Aug 7 - 'You can keep your existing portfolio on the site as long as you like, but you will not be able to add any new images for the foreseeable future'

Aug 16 - We hereby inform you that due to unusually low sales your account on Stockfresh is now cancelled and all your images were removed from the site.

Anyone else or is it just me! No great loss.

Odd... I don't have that many sales either, but culling your portfolio is just weird. How long have you been a contributor and how many images did you have?

I guess they collected enough money to start another business. Similar to what Uber is going to do, get rid of contributors and replace them with robotic cars. Is this sharing economy a Ponzi scheme?

Yes, happening everywhere. upwork told me if i didnt do a job in a certain period of time, they were going to change my profile from public to private. Here's an idea...start treating your freelancers better and they will do work!

I see a pattern...grow into a multimillion $ company, then treat the people who did that for you like crap. Then threaten to give them the boot if they don't keep making you more millions. So you can live like kings and the peons...well who gives a crap about the peons. Let them eat cake! What a world.

The sad part is that I spend days to upload my thousands of images and than later on they tell me we no longer want or need you anymore.  :(

Could be Stockfresh is going the same route as creative market where contributors are hand picked but when you are you can put your work up with no reviews.
It's very hard to do this when you already have contributors under the old model though. Not sure if this is a good way to go about it. It would probably have been better to start a new site from scratch rather than throwing people out, but who knows.

My guess is that there won't be many contributors who will really care if they are booted.  Most higher end stockers I've spoken with simply do not make much there.  I made about $2-$8 a month there with about 3000 images until I closed my account and did Peter a favor.  One less contributor he has to kick out.

Look, I know I'm nothing special, but don't we actually want stock sites to kick all the other contributors out besides us? I know it's not fair, and it could be me next... but, I can't help but think that this is really the only way to preserve incomes for artists. You just can't divide a pie a million ways. That said, I'm sorry for what happened to you. It's never a good thing or a pleasant feeling.

I think it was about 4 years and had close to 2,000 images. I'm not really bothered about getting kicked out as they never sold for me anyway but what I don't like is the way certain agencies expect top quality work but pay bottom dollar. We're all responsible for this situation but the people who worked hard and made them what they are deserve a little more respect (and renumeration!). The industry is changing and, as always, it wont be the contributors who benefit.

True. They ask for gold and pay pennies.
