I applied to Stocksy this fall and got rejected. Do you think I should apply agin, and if so what kind of pictures should I focus in?

Any feedback would be helpful:

I have no idea why you got rejected with most of the ones shown in your link.

To me, most look as good as, if not better, than what they already have on their site.

1311_Agnes, 1310_Agnes, Greek Salad, Healthy Snacks, 1305_Oslo, Pasta with mussels, chopping Herbs, 1104_Agnes and 0912_baby (my total favorite) are all excellent.

Tell Stocky TGTH and apply with those images to OFFSET instead, their loss  :)

I think "two friends hiking" and "agnes 1104 edit" are in the right direction.  Most of the rest don't really have that "feel".

The recent countdown on the Stocksy blog of the top 20 trends is a good guideline for the kind of thing they like.

Your pictures are not bad, not at all, its stocksy that is strange.
I would not know what send to them, or even understand what they want.
I think im not the only one, that has problems answering you.

Ok, thanks guys. Now I know that I'm not way off anyway.

Thanks, I've checked that list. But as you say,  Most of the rest don't really have that "feel", and its just that to to know what "feel" they're after...

But I will give it another shot in April and see if it goes better.

(Please excuse my crappy english)

I think they have an interesting help list with this:

We are not looking for stocky images, portfolios predominantly filled with isolated objects or people on white backgrounds will likely not be accepted.

Were more interested in modern work and originality than a professional background in the royalty-free market.

Although I don't understand the meaning of this one at all? Stocksy photographers are inspired and passionate shooters, we value VSCO and Instagram feeds that reflect this.

Instagram feeds? VSCO?

Could you post a link to the top 20 trends? I can't seem to locate that on the blog. I get ads and photos and follow links and things. I don't see "top 20 trends"? Thanks

Your portfolio looks better than majority of "modern" hipster stuff I've seen on Stocksy.

But if you want to look like "them" to be accepted then - desaturate your images, use "window light" as much as you can as your standard lighting, tone your images to look "different" or instagramy.

Thanks! I'll try it next time I apply to Stocksy.

I have commented before on your thread. back in March, I still think seven of your images are certainly good enough (attached).

You just need a few more.

My two cents :)

Good Luck

I love the hiking series. I think you should keep them or may be process them to be more instangram-ish

Very nice portfolio, I would say it perfectly fits into Stocksy, but most likely you don't have contacts who would push you thru ;)
