Hello to everybody,

So I got an email 'Your Stocksy application is now open!' and after one minute I got another email 'Welcome to Stocksy!'. And I can upload images.
Did I get just lucky, or it is a new standard to approve everybody?

Thanks for info :)

Did it actually say that you were accepted as a contributor? Because even if the application is complete, you can continue to upload photos to update your application.

No you are not accepted into Stocksy! You are being bid welcome to upload your files for review.

You will get a email written by a real person, personalized for you only if accepted.  Crazy right ;-)

Keep grinding and best of luck to you.

If you want to be accepted by Stocksy desaturate a little the colors of your photos and make them a little brownish that's all

+include some transgender santaclaus wearing a plastic horsehead, shot on kodak portra. They like to accumulate unique stuff that's guaranteed to make that 0.1 sale / year.

Do you think someone's application get's "pushed back in line" every time that person uploads a new photo?

Btw. I don't think it's easy to get it, but I do think it's worth it. :-)

Well, I should finish application with 25 exclusive images. I don't knoooow... for me is more interesting to feed up shutterstock. All years I have 95% approval ratio, good sales, so perhaps one day in next winter I will feed stocksy.  ;D

Keep us posted and good luck! I think the wait times to find out are much lower than before so hopefully you won't be waiting for months.

I gave up with Stocksy after I uploaded some files :D
I don't want to provide exclusive content. It is nice to get paid by 3 major stock agencies :)

I never liked the faded bad color effect pictures on Stocksy. Not my cup of tea. Maybe they sell but I doubt it...

I am still not there...
A) I don't want to provide photos exclusively, at all
B) I can be creative elsewhere...

And be sure to include sad-looking wild animals in zoos especially if you can see the chain-link cages around them.

That's the "trend" these days. Look at the front pages of any of the higher end stock photo sites like Stocksy/Offset (or hell, even the showcase of Pexels/Unsplash) and you see this ugly desaturated false color tone.

Whenever I trawl through those and see them selling at over 300 dollars a pop (not at Pexels/Unsplash of course), I feel hopelessly out of place in the market because I like to make my pictures look clean and right.

Life is too short to be bored or boring no matter how popular that look may be.

Shooting naturally light, bright images makes me happy. Seeking out and photographing free, unfettered birds and other wild critters in their natural habitats is a challenge that I love.

Those buyers who want drab, brown, imprisoned-wildlife photography will just have to go to Stocksy.

Sad.  :(

not all of us shoot like that. I too shoot light, bright and happy!  There's plenty of amazing work in the collection. i'm not disagreeing and not going to defend all the images, i've seen some stuff that upsets me too, but I don't shoot like that and I've got a large portfolio. I'm happy to be with Stocksy.

I get so flipping annoyed. Whenever Stocksy comes up everyone that hasn't been able to get in piles on with the hate. Most are just butt hurt seeing other people have success.

Can't we celebrate that there's actually a site out there being run by contributors for a change?

For context, I not with Stocksy and my style wouldn't fit with the site, but I massively support their model.

That's life. Some crib about the places they can't get in. Others crib about the people who crib about the places they can't get in.
