Finally got the courage to hit send on my Stocksy application, and stop the indecision about which images to include! It's over to them now. Fingers crossed, I am so keen to be a contributor to Stocksy as I love the images there, so inspirational and creative, and pushing boundaries with 'on trend' lifestyle content.
Link to my Flickr stream below contains many of the images I included. I know there's not many, I only put this together last couple of days. I'm being brave putting this out there as usually I just read this forum, not actually post much! I will also post the outcome when I hear back from them... hoping for a  ;D
Any feedback is welcome too  ::) Thanks

I would say that you stand a good chance with the work you've presented. Has that  'Stocksy-style' about it.
I notice you follow, amongst others, Cat Klein and Darren Muir. Excellent choices and Darren Muir is a real talent in food photography. Like his work a lot.

Good luck

I sent my application June 16 and I'm still waiting too. I'm afraid I will be very disappointed if I will receive rejection after two long months.

I think that maybe are "skimming the fat off". Maybe we passed a first selection and now they are deciding if let us join or not. It's all a big Maybe :/

Jodie you have a lovely portfolio and I wish you luck!  I can definitely see your work there!

I posted in another post but never heard from anyone.  Does anyone know if stocksy is 100% checking our external portfolios?  I've had a lot of work this summer and my portfolio is very different and much improved.  It would be a bummer if my work couldn't be reviewed as a whole!

It's been almost two months and I haven't heard back and i'm starting to get a little nervous.  I have a friend who applied after me and was rejected a few weeks ago.  I'm getting nervous that my application hasn't been seen yet and that the call to artists will close.

If anyone has any advice for my portfolio please let me know!

I hope they will check our external portfolio. I improved it later and I'm very sorry I'm not able to add some of new images to my application too. I applied 7 weeks ago and I'm still waiting.

Thanks Chelsea, really appreciate your feedback! I also added more images to flickr after my application so I do hope they review all the links I provided. You have some gorgeous images, and they seem like they would fit well with the Stocksy feel. But we will all just have to wait! My fingers are getting sore being crossed all the time!

Thank you for sharing your experience, epantha. Did you send them images from your microstock portfolio or something different? I was rejected with my microstock images last year so I decided to choose more personal work for this time but I don't know if to was good decision yet.

Thank you Magdalena!  I just took a very deep breath.    And thank you Jodie!

I'm sorry to hear that you didn't get in epantha!

I definitely see that people are getting in on their site.  I'm wondering if they go through portfolios randomly seeing as though epantha heard back within a week and I had a friend hear back before me and I applied before her.  Who knows, but i'm starting to get really anxious.

For the Stocksy application, I uploaded some stock photos that are already online and some from recent trips. I ended up with a mixed bag of old and new and different styles which might not have been very cohesive as a group.

For my next application in 3 months, I will upload mostly new work using my 5D Mark II and iPhone and work towards a more unified portfolio. I do like some of the filters you can use in Lightroom which are kind of toned down Instagram types and have been getting some good results using my phone camera, which I never would have even considered using in the past.

I was getting pretty bored with the whole stock photo scene (started uploading in 2008), but the hope of getting into Stocksy has reignited a passion for shooting again. I REALLY want to get in there. I work part time as a designer at a marketing and communications agency and most of the photography used there has the "new look". It seems to me that it would be a good idea to go with the flow, and change with the times, even if it means changing my shooting style and post-production techniques.

No!  Today actually marks two months since I applied, so I am hoping that I might be reviewed today.  The wait is 1 - 2 months.  I know that I'm certainly not the best photographer that ever applied but I am hopeful and I'm worried that my application is going to get forgotten!  This is one long wait.

No, I need a towel for my tears :)
And many thanks to everyone for birthday congratulations!

Its not a big deal, as foregoing downfall for me in micro-stock I have tried out to sell some prints with traditional framing, and after all this endless seeming digital world, images on paper feels so good. I recommend to everyone to try out this too, believe me, for a change this activity have a nice touch and feels enjoyable, and by the way, for me selling some framed set I earned quite much more than during whole year in stock.

Have a nice weekend,

Kalevi
