.. how long does it usually take to get an answer?  Mine have been sitting there for a week and I don't think that's a good sign.

The wrote somewhere on their website review will take 1-2 months.

In my case it took 18 days. It's not my style really and the answer was obvious for me

"Your Stocksy application was declined. Our editors felt that your images weren't what we were looking for in our collection. It was a difficult decision, but we only have room for a small group of contributors. We wish you the best in your future endeavours and we would be happy to look at your portfolio again in a few months.

Thank you for taking the time to show us your work."

Are you planning to retry the application in a few month?

I don't really treat my images as some special art or worth to try Stocksy gate, and I know my style and gallery is far from St. excpectations, just tried with "what if somehow they will accept....?" That would be funny and weird accident in my career  Tried for fun, not expecting to be accepted specially. I earn money with other agency. Selling with St. would be like playing and fun, trying new - nothing more.

Will I try again? Who knows... If I will, it's gonna be impulse only, just like this time

There are so many great portfolios in this forum, people do wonderful work and they are succesed somewhere else. This is great that we all find best place for each other! However, I wish you good luck if you really want to work with Stocksy. But, never forget why you are doing this, why taking photos. Find your own style and go on with it - never loose your way   I lost mine few years ago (wrote about it here and there before). I was taking photos close to Stocksy style, free and real shoot, not watching the photo rules... Lot of sun, happy people, sweet animals, ect. Then I started micros and that was it. My images changed, no artsy, only products and studio shoots. Wrong way, wrong decisions...

Your self esteem as an artist and creator.

This rejection nonsense is haphazard. Dont worry about it. I have been rejected from the best restaurants in Manhattan and it didnt bother me. In fact....the middle finger feels kinda good right now

Stocksy is a joke.

All that you need to do is compress the tonal range (less contrast, push the RGB curve up in the left bottom and down in the right top) and do split toning (blue in shadows, orange in highlights).

You do this and you'll get accepted.

Spike is not that far off. Stocksy has many powerful images, other that only have the instagram look but are prone to oblition. I have always wondered what if some day Stocksy wakes up, swims outside the lagoon to the open sea. I really think they would be succesful. Most people are just fed up with the domination of the two gorillas. The strategy not to grow too fast might work or not, but they have all the element to become a dominant player if they just step out their safe zone.

Me I will be watching carefully. I have not aplied yet as i am still exclusive to one of the dominant players and because this actor accepts a variety of images of mine from cheap production on white background to shoots that have cost me 4000$ to editorial images.

I like what I see with Stocksy and for the benefit of all of us contributors or not I wish them gold and glory
