Hi!
I've been waiting for about 6 weeks. In the meantime, I'm holding back uploading alot of images to my other sites in case I get in and want them on stocksy instead. If I don't get accepted, I'll put them all on the regular sites and start again for next year.

Hi!
I applied on June 16th and I'm waiting and waiting... Yesterday I discovered how to add next images to my application and I decided to do it so I uploaded my application twice. I don't know if it was wise or not but I'm very tired out already so I wanted to try it. I hope it wasn't a mistake  :-\

Did you add new images on the same application of two months ago? That could be really interesting! :D

WOW! You are a record breaker! Didn't you try to write to support?

Yes, I think so. I added many images to my website portfolio later and I regretted I don't have some of them in my application too. When you will go to "Call to artists", then "Apply with Stocksy", "Continue" and "Login" (you must be logout before), you will find a page with your identity and your application images and you can add more. When you will upload them and finish you will receive the same confirmation e-mail as for the first time. But I really don't know if it will help somebody with his application or not.

It will be 11 weeks for me tomorrow. When I tried last year I didn't wait so long. May be they have much more applicants now and it is more difficult to select the most suited photographers.

Not a mistake, a blunder. A double upload will be treated harshly, by many SA's

Upload once, move on- especially if you havent got account approval yet. Cant speak for Stocksy, but doing that is not a good move.

I gave them 5 of my best images and still waiting. Cant say Im holding my breath. Would love a place on there. But i love their ethos and hope they crush this industry into shape! (Giving all members share of profits each year etc...)

I see them more as a way forward than anything else. Hope they thrive.

Ok, let me put this way:
If tomorrow Jon Oringer sell SS to those Getty idiots get whatever$ (get bored meanwhile) and create another SStocksy will you support him? I won't!
Bruce Livingstone selling IS made more damage to the MS industry then anyone else. What's next selling Stocksy and than again..........

Again, the business is set up as a co-op, which means that Bruce is not able to "sell it".

Thank you for your opinion, Ubermansh. I thought about it too a lot but I didn't find any rule relating to this question so I don't know if it is possible or not. It occurred to me that may be we can edit our applications when there is opportunity how to do it but may be I'm really wrong and they don't want it. I will see. If I knew for sure it isn't allowed I wouldn't do it of course.

Probably he didn't know what Getty will do with iStock. I like that he is trying to do something new for photographers and stock industry now.

Not exactly what they would do, but Getty had a dreadful reputation among UK photographers at least long before they took over iStock.
But as Sean says, the co-op means he can't make the same mistake again.

Mistake?  Assumed it was done on purpose in exchange for a nice wad of change?

Again, the business is set up as a co-op, which means that Bruce is not able to "sell it".

I have read many of the Stocksy press releases and such but could find co op information, everything they release seems to have a hush hush secret surprise tone to it.

My main question with the co op would be how transparent it is and how it actually works?

Do they pro rate the highest sellers higher margins and lower selling photographers lower portions? Is it freely open to members? Do we all get to see the books on a daily basis? The 50% is a start, but what got me excited about Stocksy is the profit sharing promise. THAT is fair!! Artist does all the work.

Choosing stocksy for me was about clarifying this area, but no information really available. What stocksy offer is Bruce and his IS legacy and the co op promise. Would definitely want more specific and concrete written info or contract to read that outlines how this works.

Also can a future successful stocksy management just decide to buy an office building this year and kill all profits that were meant for the artist?

If you have any information or links that i might have missed, please drop them.

Have you read their legal documents? Maybe there could be answers at least to some of your questions http://www.stocksy.com/legal/

The co-op's legal documents are available to members.  Financial data is available to members.  That info is not available to the general public so there are no links to share.

Some documents are available also to applicants. I can find  bylaws, member agreement and supply agreement when I login although I didn't receive any response to my application.

Jodie, how long will you hold up your images? I quitted uploading to microstock when I sent my application but it is 12 weeks already and I think I have to start with my microstock work again. I can't wait so long  :-\

Hi Magdalena,
I'm holding images that I think would suit Stocksy and am still uploading some other more traditional stock images to existing sites so that my portfolio keeps performing on those too. Keeping the bread and butter income growing is important too!

Don't put your work on hold because you're waiting for Stocksy!  Always keep shooting.

I'm shooting all the time but they rejected my microstock images last year so I decided to focus more on my own subjects and personal approach to photography and it is the reason why I set back my microstock work for now. My own photography and my microstock photography are very different and it's difficult for me to shoot both together.  I didn't expect I will have to wait  few months for replay... I have to do something useful finally and it seems that it will be better to start with my microstock work again.

Almost 3 months waiting! Are we sure they are going to reply to all of us? Out of the blue, i'm going to feel sad and nervous!
