Can't see a reason to continue. You only have to look at the sales distribution to see that soon the income will be way down. Perhaps for some of the big guns who like to upload everywhere but not for me.

Little income is still better than no income  ;)

Still uploading. Had my first 100% rejected batch in a long time today. Rejects for cropping (food photos) and property release (swimming pool).

True, but not enough to offset upload time etc. I'll leave the current images up and see how it shakes out over the next 6 months and go from there.

SS has a thread on the StockXpert changes. On it jmci wrote:  "When I think of the furor they caused when they first started that scheme..."
I remember that. Before the tax withholding thing at SS, just about the biggest furor to ever happen in microstock was when StockXpert said it was going to sell its image thru Jupiter. People went insane with rage, stopped uploading, threatened to pull their port from StockXpert in droves!

Now when StockXpert says it's not going to sell through Jupiter, people are going to stop uploading again. We microstockers are strange group.

You are absolutely right! No wonder they can't take as serious and treat us like sh*t!

What actually happened was that the JIU/PC license included the rights that elsewhere would have required an EL. Hardly surprising that contributors didn't want to sell EL's for 30c and thus the furore. I've got a feeling that the original offering was not optional either.

What really happened is documented here: http://www.draiochtwebdesign.com/blog/stockxpert-contributors-begin-to-pull-out

And by the way, don't mock protests like that. That protest is the reason why you have the privilege of opting out on istock, they dare not make it compulsory after what happened.

Mind you, I think istock will give people time to get used to it, and then remove the opt out after a while, under the guise that, they can't offer 'consistancy' to their customers unless everyone is opted in.. I hope you guys are ready.. because I don't see as much fight in people at the moment..

StockXpert is pretty good for me even without JIU or photos-com, so of course I am uploading as usual.

IS would be mad to shut StockXpert down completely.

I'd agree. The upload process via ftp is simple, quick and reliable and inspection is about the fastest of all agencies. I had a $50 EL sale there the other day too __ which was nice.

LOL  Yeah now that I've cooled off and did some designing...it's easy to FTP there, so I'll just keep pluggin away.  It sure is hard not to read between the lines though.  Hopefully they'll keep it.  I really like StockXpert.   ;D

I haven't decided yet if I'm still going to upload.  Feeling quite rebellious about this whole situation.  The whole idea of submitting images to any Getty-owned site at this point makes me sick to my stomach, and I'm not into the idea of supporting a company that continuously makes decisions that hurt its contributors.

I still upload to them,I'll continue until whatever happens. I won't try to get in IS.
Same here - but surely we can expect a drop in sales.

I haven't uploaded at StockXpert for the past few weeks as I've been busy with a couple photoshoots and building up my Veer port.  I usually wind down uploading aroung this time of year anyway as summer I find is kinda slow for stock sales anyway.
By summer's end SS should have their tax requirements figured out (hopefully), the StockXpert debacle will have settled down, and the first signs of the viability of Veer will be coming into play. Im taking a bit of a wait and see approach over the summer.

Still uploading at StockXpert because same images are rejected by Istock are accepted and sell just in the minute by StockXpert. They do also if they slip throug the review at istock but most of them where rejected.

I wondered if at some time in the future they may merge the two sites. I want to have as many as possible istock rejects on the SX site if that happens!
May never happen, but you never know, Getty seem mad enough to do it.

If they want to close StockXpert, they would - in my opinion. Maybe they will pick out only portfolios what sells, but they have to integrate them if they want to integrate the customers of StockXpert.
Thats one reason more to upload because i sell at StockXpert, same images what are rejected by istock.

I am not uploading to micros at the moment, but if I were, I would refrain from uploading there for a while, except for seasonal images.

I seriously think that a microstock company could say, "We're giving each contributor a $1,000 summer bonus, no strings attached," and some people would be upset about it. :)

Quite a fickle group we are...

Me too. I think that's the best thing to do.  The only thing moving are the old images on Dreamstime, StockXpert, SS,etc.. as most of us are already finding out in the other thread discussions . Summer is never a fast time anyway, so you are right, may as well top up on our SV transfer at Veer, wait for StockXpert to settle then resume uploading to all the sites when Autumn arrives. And hopefully, we will all get that new lense or camera we are planning for ourselves this Christmas

I don't think the doubt is about the "loss" of Jupiter/Photos.com deal, but the changes that may come to StockXpert.  A reduction of our commissions is a fear.  However, I don't think StockXpert has a minimum time they retains our images, like DT and BigStock do, so it would not be a problem deleting new images should one decide to close the account with StockXpert.

I had figured on not uploading any more because I assume they are going to be shut down.  But since I am still getting sales I decided to upload my latest batch there yesterday.

What a surprise to check in today and find they were all approved and one had sold already.

Guess they aren't dead yet :)

This is making my brain hurt.  I don't have any images at iStock.  I've recently opted out of subs at StockXpert.  My sales are dismal EVERYWHERE.  So, why not support StockXpert?

None of the images I have at StockXpert will be on IS or their SubSites.  I wonder how many others will have unique images (not on an iStock subsidiary) at StockXpert.  Won't IS be dumping all those images if they close StockXpert?  Won't StockXpert have a better chance of surviving if we keep uploading "unique" images there, padding their database?  Won't I have a better chance of reaching a payout if I keep uploading?  What is the worst thing that could happen to my images if IS closes StockXpert?

Is my reasoning totally naive?
