I've just joined Stockxpert and I've been trying to FTP my files (using FileZilla).

Trouble is ... I do everything they tell you to do (connect to ftp://stockxpert.com, normal setting, use username and password for access) but I just get the message 'Unable to Connect'

I e-mailed them a couple of days ago, but haven't had a reply yet. Anyone on here got any advice?

Thanks

you must be typing in something wrong.  I just connected succesfully with filezilla

are you sure you typed in your username and password correctly.  are you sure you spelled everything in ftp://stockxpert.com correctly?

I don't use FTP there, but there is generally a setting that one or another place requires to change from default. I only can't remember which one. :(

For your reference, mine works okay on my filezilla
host: stockxpert.com
Port: 21
ServerType: FTP
Logontype: Normal
User: <put in your username>
Password: <something only you will know>

the rest are all unchecked, empty.

Have you successfully FTP'd to other agencies before? Because my settings are no different for other ftp sites actually.

Cheers,
ptlee

Thanks everyone ... it's still mystery.

I FTP to several other sites no problems.

I've even gone to the extent of cutting and pasting the web address. And I've tried my username with and without capitals ... typing it and the password in with one finger and spelling them out as I go, like an idiot. Still no joy. I'm going to try changing my details on the site and see if it works after that.

Grrrrrrrr!

YAY!  I changed my password and now I can log in.   ;D

Maybe my old one had something in it that the system didn't like. It started with a string of figures and I definitely wasn't typing them in wrong. I typed and re-typed them several times and I know them so well.

Anyway, thanks again folks.

For anyone else who is having problems with FTP, make sure your password is no longer than ten characters. If your password is longer than ten characters, the FTP will not work.
