On StockXpert's forums there is a thread titled "I Want My Money!!" where a few people are concerned because they have been waiting for payouts since the 15th.  That's 8 days and counting on a site that promises to pay in three days.

I am in that boat and haven't been able to get a coherent response to my TWO support e-mails about it.  The first was ignored and the second was responded to with a form letter about "we understand your concerns and are working on the site problem you wrote about".  They don't even mention what the "problem" is much less how it is being addressed, and of course the only thing that actually matters, which is WHEN will we be PAID?!

Has anyone gotten paid by StockXpert in the last week?  Is this a sitewide problem or just confined to a few unlucky contributors?

Steve, are you there?  When will your contributors be paid?

Me too. The balance hasn't changed. I show a pending payment and am not allowed to make another request. I read today that Getty is in formal discussion to buy Jupiter. Who knows what will happen to the StockXpert brand if and when that happens. Jupiter has been bleeding badly for many years. javascript:void(0); Perhaps they are trying to look like a better buy by improving their cash position for the moment. i.e. keeping our money in their bank.

I requested a payment yesterday, so nothing to report here.  However, I am still waiting on a payment from FT that I submitted on the 15th.

See the thread about Juperiter  being sold to Getty - might be related?

Thanks Zeus and JoAnn for the info on the sale.  Don't know how I missed that.

If you are right and they are withholding their contributors money on purpose then that is reprehensible, not to mention possibly grounds for class action if it continues...

I've never ever had a payout issue with StockXpert right from day one. I've just requested a payout, which usually happens within a couple of days. Let see what happens. I'll let you know.

Don't worry, they won't be "keeping" contributors' earnings.  Getty is likely doing due dilligence and StockXpert will not be able to move its money around as easily at this phase.  They are not in a bankrupt situation that I've heard so once the transaction is complete (or once Getty decides NOT to purchase JI) and sometimes it is much more difficult just to write a cheque - payments must be approved by all parties during this period.   I'm sure the money will flow again.

Thanks Pixart, that is the most reasonable hypothesis I've read/heard as to why we aren't being paid.   Sort of reassuring somehow if money being frozen is just an inevitable part of any buyout.

It begs the question - how long will this buyout last?

I wouldn't be so bothered except that I am owed money by THREE sites that are in arrears - StockXpert, 123RF (for Sept), and Fotolia - all of which appear in no big hurry to pay contributors.

When one site is slow to pay, it's a glitch.  When three of them are doing it then it looks more like a trend.

I just realized you can ask payment as many times as you like. When you ask payment, it acts like you didnt ask, and you can ask again. and again...

Well, through the 90's I was a legal assistant at a couple large entertainment companies a few smaller companies were bought and sold.  (Selling is the worst of these two nightmares!)  Payments aren't exactly frozen, the internal process just changes.  A StockXpert payment that was *likely* once verified by a keystroke may now have to be documented and presented to managment and then to the lawyers on each side for verification and for approval or deferral.  But sometimes non-essential payments are not made at all until the new purchaser takes over and assumes all debts and receiveables.  Hopefully Getty doesn't jerk anyone and delay payables ever further if it's the latter.   If JI was solvent when they purchase it Getty really has to pay eventually.  I have not heard that JI is in bankruptcy or bankruptcy protection, or then we'd be on a creditors' list and it would be doubtful that we'd see much or any of the amount owed.

And whoa, FT is in arrears?  With the general bad talk about their methods lately this fact isn't a confidence builder is it?  Maybe I'll try to cash out now instead of the end of the month in case they are going in the red as well...

Thanks for the explanation :)

This buyout, along with the silence on the part of anyone working for StockXpert, speaks volumes.  It may be quite awhile before they cough up what we are owed, if ever it seems.

As for Fotolia, I only mean they are in arrears to me - don't know about anyone else.  The last few payments from them have been very slow in coming, and their new policy of not allowing you to request another payout when one is pending means that money is allowed to accumulate and sit in the account.  With Fotolia's lax security measures this is not a site I want to accumulate much of a balance with.

They are late in payment to me as well.

Is it possible on StockXpert just to request a certain amount as a payout. For example if you have accumulate 500,-$ on your account is it possible just to request 250,-$ and wait for the rest with a better exchange rate (currently the Dollar is going and i expect it to go a lot more up if Obama wins so maybe worth to wait a little)?

StockXpert have had several long delays with payments in the past.  I don't think the takeover has anything to do with it this time.  Did we have a long delay when istock was taken over by getty or when getty was taken over by another company?  I can't remember that happening.

Appears that today they finally managed to get their payouts done.  I got mine (requested from the 15th) today too.

So if you were one of the lucky ones who just requested within the past couple of days - good for you.  You can imagine there was never an issue.

However a lot of us have had to wait a week to 10 days for that payout and that's indicative there was a problem.

Hope whatever the issue was it is fixed and the next payouts will be within the promised 3 days.  I will know again by Tuesday...

I got a payout from them within a day or two. Although the message from StockXpert said that it was paid out to PayPal, it was transferred to Moneybookers, which was what I requested...
