Being pretty new to the SymbioClub I was pretty overwhelmed at first - but it is all falling into place - little by little. I've tried to read all the threads and have watched all the videos but I haven't seen the two issues below.

First involves Categories and Drop Down menus.
I get how to do it and I think mine are working fine even have some sub-categories.
The issue is if I try to create a sub-category of a sub-category it doesn't show up in the drop down.
It's not that important but I thought it would work that way.

Second is Keywords.
This goes back to the 'old days' at SS when if you wanted phrases you needed to put them in Quotes - "like this"
I was uploading some old files that I had forgotten to remove quotes from in my IPTC. (I keyword in PS or Bridge)
Once they are uploaded I cannot remove the quotes.
I tried deleting the files and re-uploading the corrected version - but once I hit Publish the quotes return.
It seems the system is somehow remembering those keywords from the initial upload and defaulting to the version with quotes.
One of the images in question http://softlightstock.com/image/basilisk/
Anybody else seen this?

the child of a child seems to be working in the header categories -- eg
travel / Mongolia / Mongolia editorial

but then the list doesn't indent at all -- did it work ok before you add child-child ones?

I tried it on my categories, where I just had 1 level before
http://cascoly-images.com/pix/image-categories/

now I have childchild and it seems to work fine in the list, though when selecting in edit, it came ar the very bottom of the list!

Yes that example works
What i was trying to get was
Travel / USA / Alaska / Alaska Editorial

What I ended up doing was
Travel / USA / Alaska Editorial

edit
Which works and I'm OK with it in the end it might be cleaner that way

Thanks

yes, it'll be easier on the user too if there aren't too many level to drill thru;  what I've done before is pull the USA up to a parent category when the size of USA is near that of all the other travel subs combined

I haven't had the keywords/quotes issue. Sorry I can't help. The only thing I can think of is that when you save your images to draft, delete the quoted keywords on the right and re-add them back in, then publish. Maybe you've tried that already. That's all I got.

Yep, that's what happens. You may need to go in to the "Image Keywords" section. Its in the same drop down as the "all images". If you delete the keyword there that should get rid of it.

You beat me to posting this.  I ran into the same thing with some words capitalized.  I would correct them in the keywords and they reverted back to the original Caps.  You don't have to delete the keyword entirely - there is an Edit option.

You guys have totally lost me. I don't even know what problem your experiencing. Isn't that just a horrible thing to think? How did we get this far I have no idea.

Anyway, if this is another IPTC problem (the way your stuff was keyworded, etc) this software I'm including in future downloads/implementing might take care of all your issues. Probably by the end of monday:

Thanks I'll try that

Edit;
Didn't know about the Edit Keywords

Worked like a charm - crisis solved

Thank You

I agree it might be too many levels

Not a bug Leo, just a "feature".  When images are uploaded the keywords are grabbed and loaded into the Image Keywords admin area under the Symbiostock Image area.  Once it's in there, if you try to correct the formatting in the individual image edit area (full or quick edit option) it will revert to the stored keyword.  You can delete or add keywords and those will save, it just seems to effect trying to edit a keyword formatting, ie: lower or upper case or quotations.

Hi Leo,

After publishing some draft images I've got this message not seen on precedent 1.3.6 version  :-\

"Invalid Date - must be YYYY-MM-DD format"

Any idea ?

Thanks

Thats no big deal. IPTC data requires a date formatted as the error shows. If its not formatted correctly, it shows an error. I'm not sure if it aborts writing IPTC though.

Leo the change in size work now thanks:-) however after a change sizing it is very difficult to change prices as it has to be done picture by picture, would it be possible to add the pricinf in the quick edit?
Cheers

Really? Can we adjust the sizes globally now in the admin section? So if we set a new size dimension in there it will reflect on all files? I hope so!

And yep, +1 for the global price adjustment too.

You mean changing prices is hard because it reprocesses all those pics? I"m going to make reprocessing a little more conditional so it doesn't change image size on every sort of save.

yes that's right:) I have images with different pricing that's why it is difficult..

I'm strugling with processing errors for my new site (in construction) http://www.energy-photos.com/
I have the version V2.4.2 and I have read that this should solve the issue, but still it doesnt. Files are less than 10 M and I use blue host.
Anyone had the same problem and solved it?
Thank you in advance
Jean
