I'm starting to put up zipped sets for sale. I'm just wondering about pricing strategies since doing this is rather new to me. Is there a baseline standard as far as price per image in the set or is it priced based on what the set is?

I'm wondering because I don't want to underprice nor do I want to overprice. Any personal insight or links to articles would be most helpful.

Especially in view of the fact that one of the Symbio features is the display of similar images from other sellers. In ~~contract~~ contrast to conventional agencies where a buyer can easily aggregate images from multiple authors and pay for all of them in one transaction, on Symbio network he could see images from multiple sellers but would need to pay separately to each seller.

As a buyer I would rather buy the best images from multiple sellers than getting a fixed package from one. But since I am not a buyer, I'm really curious how this will work in practice.

I would have thought that collections would have been zipped (to make them smaller and more efficient for downloading), but I haven't upgraded to the newest version and don't know much about either at this point.

If we are talking about jpg files, I don't think that zipping would yield any noticeable savings in space.

I believe "Collections" are a fantastic sales tool. Every image can be purchased separately or all images of a "Collection" can be purchased as a set at a very attractive bulk rate. That's like pointing the potential customer to a better deal.
The difference to zip files is that the customer still has the choice of buying a single image or the entire set.

Imagine someone wants to write a story about pregnancy, or wants to build an entire website about it. A collection would be a perfect way to go to
1. save money
2. keep a layout
3. get enough image material

I haven't upgraded either I'm at 2.5.6 the collections section is just in the premium upgrade correct?

I have them all up individually as well as sets. I have fonts that I make and other things in a series. One of my sets includes jpg and eps the other two are just jpg files. That way if they don't want all of them they can still get them individually.

I agree. I have set them up on my site as well. I wish I sold more of them, but it is nice when they sell.

I had been using zips for older collections I had previously sold on ebay; but from here i'll just use collections - they're much easier to set up and maintain:

--you can easily add or delete images
-- you can offer the collection in multiple sizes

I offer collections at deep discounts. Since most buyers would only buy 1 or 2 images, the collections have to be attractively priced.
