A few weeks ago I had a problem where I could not edit my images (or re-edit them) as the text was white and therefore invisible and nothing else -  keywords etc could be found and/or changed.

I got around it by deleting nearly everything and starting again but the problem is back again today.  The only thing I have changed is to edit my front page which may or may not have been the trigger.

Has anyone else come across this and if so how did you fix it.

I have had similar issues with all  of my Wordpress pages.

I am on a really slow internet connection.  Going and having a cup of tea and retrying later solved this for me ( not sure if it is the same problem for you)

I *think* this problem both times occurred when I edited my front page.

Instead of starting with all the plug ins this time I made a(nother) copy of my child theme and deleted both child theme and symbiostock, toggled back and forth between others a few times then reuploaded Symbiostock and child theme and edited child them to paste original back in again.  Seems to have fixed my problem.  Last time I took me a few days of fiddling around with all the plug-ins and widgets, most of which I deleted/uninstalled.
Hope this helps anyone else who might run across the same problem

I thought I had fixed this problem but in all my images uploaded before a certain date it still exists.  The affected images (majority of my portfolio) cannot be edited and show no size information in the pricing table.

If anyone else comes across it please let me know so we can compare notes.  I originally tired disabling (and then deleting) all plug ins and eventually the theme and child themes themselves which appeared to fix the problem but now I have run out of ideas.

Everthing still seems to work otherwise I think

Can you give an example...

Here are a few screenshots

In this one I have moused over the text - it is in white so does not show and nothing except SyXtra Master keyword is missing or uneditable

Now a normal version - shows text, picture and all editable areas

The public area view of the first image - note the sizes missing (at one point the prices reverted to 0 but currently showing)

The public area of the second, normal, view

I can't make out the first two images (the text is too small to see what is going on).

The public area view of the first image - note the sizes missing (at one point the prices reverted to 0 but currently showing)

I would suggest trying to "reprocess" one of the bad images and see if that fixes it.

Unfortunately it does not.

I cannot replicate the problem on my testing site so am going to try updating to latest Symbiostock version and then reprocessing to see if that triggers anything.  If not will work backwards.  My backup is no good as it was made at a point when I thought I had the problem sorted but apparently not.

It appears that it only affects published images (and for a while upon publication) as I have some old drafts I have never published and they look fine

FWIW, that is one reason why it is good to keep as many backups as possible for as long as possible.

It looks like either the database got corrupted or there is a bug in the code and it isn't reading the sizing information for some reason.

If you know how to access the database, you could see if the sizing information is missing for that image.

When i added the html code to description box so it would display a video, it locked that particular page the same way that Christine is describing. Dont know if that helps

Would the fact my symbiostock_rf folder only has images in it back to the 7th August (instead of end of March) have anything to do with this I wonder?

It doesn't sound related.  It might be another issue though.

The sizing information is stored in the database.  So either it isn't stored in the database for those records, or it isn't being read and displayed properly.

Somehow the images have disappeared from the database but some of the data is still showing.  I am going to have to delete around 1,100 of missing images and start all over again as they are not available for sale (Mark just tried for me)

I just wish I knew how/why they had disappeared from the file

Bye for now - I have a lot of deleting of incomplete files and reuploading/seo-ing to do  :(  :-X  :'( :'( :'(

I would verify that before I went down that road.  An hour or so of verification is much better than days of starting from scratch.  In addition, you might want to check to see if your web host keeps previous backups and see how far they go.

I do not know how to verify - BUT I have realised what date it is and am trying a JH back up from 6th August, a day or so before the problem seems to have arisen - please keep your fingers crossed for me

Oh dear, hope you get it sorted without having to reload everything.

Back up keeps crashing/timing out - waiting now for webchat with host help - that is about a 30 minute wait
