I'm setting up a local server to see some things.  First question for the community expert. I want to test some changes in my site with the symbiostock theme and I would see more deeply how it appears.
Probably this is only the first question, which file I must download to run my site as is as now in local?
Thanks.

Are you using Windows? In that case here's a good tool:

I write symbiostock as descriptive and obvious as I can, so if you'd like to start learning PHP you will find its quite fun. Break stuff and have fun with it :D

No Leo, I set up a LAMP some years ago in my laptop and now I downloaded the MAMP for mac. Now I must download the WordPress and tomorrow I think that I'm ready, but I don't know which files I need to download from the server where my site is hosted. Maybe the root to bring the whole site? or can be enough the wp-content?

I see now, my brain is off.

To be really thorough the wp-content folder would be the way to go. Specifically the themes folder and the plugins folder would be the one you want. But for best results wp-content is the way to go.

Thank you Leo. A note, I saw your announcement and the video about the premium pack. You know what there is my wish-list plugin, but I think you are moving in the right way, the focus in the search engine is a MUST, and to me appears really a great improvement. I'm waiting for the official release and the time I'm waiting for is well worth.

Check this out, it's much easier and better http://www.phototric.com/2013/05/symbiostock.html#symbiostock-local-host

Sounds interesting but there are two cons. First The most important is that I wasn't able to see any download link for linux or mac; in fact in a page I saw a statement about windows pc machine. Maybe I missed the right link?
The second is that now I downloaded the both wordpress and MAMP and I need only to set up few things; and then I hope that all run smoothly  ;D
I remember this article plrang and if I recall right I shared it :)

Ive used a mamp server before to work on a couple of wp websites and i took the whole root. Seems like i had to change some pages there, but maybe because i was customizing the whole theme for those sites.
