For the life of me I cant find where to turn off commenting on my pages.

Isn't that something that I can do on a page-by-page basis?

admin edit: edited subject of thread to be more descriptive

Maybe in "author options"?

In your admin panel ( dashboard) To set your overall commenting, it is in the settings tab under discussions.

To set for individual posts there is a check box for allow.  If you don't see the check box, in the upper right corner there is a screen options menu.  This shows or hides what you see on any of the edit pages.

grsphoto, said all right, in dashboard you set for all the site.
For page by page or post by post what wrote grsphoto in again right but you allow or disallow the comment only in quick edit. Roll over the page or post and you can see the men. In quick edit you can fix other things such as keywords, schedule when to publish an article etc.

OK, I finally found it.

On a page, you need to click 'screen options' in the upper right and then click the 'discussions' check box. That is confusing because the option next to it is 'comments' which one might assume has something to do with comments.

Thanks!

may I also ask a stupid question (I love them, I always learn something new!)

How to have a gallery with newest picture on the main page?

Sorry if this was already discussed, I could not really find a topic covering this question

I thought I had the comments all off, but they are still showing up on the individual image pages.  I am on bluehost if that matters.  Any ideas?

Go here:

Post # 12 worked for me.

Check Symbiostock - Technical Support ...there are a lot of ways to fix stuff there, also in Symbiostock - Development Area.

I tried post 12 and either it didn't "stick" the first time I tried that or there is some "lag" in making the change, but it works now.

Thanks Cathy

Thanks Cathy

I have noticed "lags" now and again with different things. Yeah, we'll say that's what it was.  :) Glad it worked.

Well, I spoke too soon.  The comments are not showing on some images and are showing on other images, some with the same publish date.   I can't figure out where they have been turned on the individual images.  Frustrating......

Can you please send me (leo[at]symbiostock.com) an invite as an admin user. I'll go see whats going on. Really you should be able to activate or deactivate all IMAGE comments in one swoop. Hopefully I'm not missing something.
