Topic: Does VEER actually sell for any of you?

Veer has been my one major disappointment.  In the last three months they have sold two pictures for 70 cents.  In that same time Shutterstock has had almost 1000 sales for about $600.  Even Deposit Photo, has made 60 sales.  Bigstock and 123 a couple of hundred, Dreamstime and Fotolia in the mid hundreds.  In other words, I know I have quality images that sell.  They just don't sell at Veer.  How are you folks doing with them?

I just restarted with Veer recently, so only have 9 images on the site at the moment.  But the reason I rejoined them was because I am reading positive things about sales there.

According to the poll results at the right, they have passed Bigstock and are neck-and-neck with 123RF.  Neither of those is among my top selling sites, but they do well enough that I think Veer is worth uploading to if their sales are comparable.

How many images do you have there?

Sales have fallen after the contributors promotion but I expected that.  I hope they will now have enough images to market the site and get enough buyers to keep us all happy.  I don't mind how long it takes, provided they do all they can.

I have 3800 pictures there - still not finished uploading my entire port due to their upload limit of 100/week (now 50/week)

and VEER is 4% of my total earnings; same as 123RF where I have many more pictures

I have 330 images there with a 94% acceptance rate. I like the look and navigation. I hate the long queue times and the long time it takes to even begin to get views. There seems to be another bottleneck after acceptance in getting the images on line and search-able. I think also sales there have taken way too long to materialize but they now belong to the middle sales tier for me as well as others. For me they're selling more than FT but less than DT, SS, and IS. The key with Veer is patience along with a great deal of hopeful anticipation.

I am kicking myself for having asked that my images be removed when I thought I was going exclusive with Istock.  I had over 1,000 images on Veer, and was seeing regular sales.  Imagine it will take quite awhile to get those images back on the site and rebuild my sales.

i do see regular sales there, but nothing shocking. they are for me just a bit better than 123 ans BS. Anyway i like the site and once in a while i like to see some 35$ EL.

My sales there are improving pretty well. This month I've had 2 EL's and a lot of $3.50 sales. I'm hoping they can put some marketing behind this site and really try to compete more with the other sites. The original Veer was very profitable for me, so I'll give them some leeway.

I'm waiting for my 5th payout so they're doing well for me. Smiley I joined in July 2009 and have nearly 800 images online.

I'm new there (and in microstock...), I have a portfolio since september, actually I have only 15 accepted images (not for a bad ratio of acceptances, but for the incredible long time they spend in evaluation), and in this time I have had 5 sales ($10 total).

Veer is really picking up steam slowly for me. I had an EL this week of an illustration (my only one!) that never sold elsewhere. 24$ feels nice. Apart from that I had just 5 sales but all of shots that were a bit "special" and that only sell at IS. Veer is certainly "different" both in content policy and in customer base, so to see. What's more, they kept their DFC promises 101%. Time to catch up with uploading...

unfortunately it's not doing very good for me - only 2 sales in November, and 6 in October. No ELs at all. So far I uploaded about 800 pics.

Well how about approaching Corbis for RM, RF, etc?

I am also little disappointed with VEER.
647 images uploaded. 4 sales in November and 4 in October

last month was good for me (I think it beat 123 and BigStock but not them combined), the DFC was awesome, this month is less though (< than 123 and BigStock) - maybe some ebb and flow, but after they followed through with the DFC I'm willing to give them some time. I'd love to see them join the big 4 or whatever number you pick.

I wish the poll results reflected reality...

123rf makes 10x more than veer for me:) and Bigstock like 6x more!

Everyone's reality is different.
For the last 5 months Veer has outperformed both BS and 123rf for me with less than half the portfolio online.
(And I'm not including the Dash for Cash figures)

IS makes 10000 x more then Veer! and SS 8000 x more then Veer.

Sales took a deep nose dive for me too, after the spike of the last month. They're definitely not "just behind" 123RF.

I don't think I will ever be able to weigh in on sales at Veer.  I can't seem to get anything reviewed.

I just had two 35 cent sales!!  But last month one sale was especially nice at $17.  I really do hope they do well.  Their last e-mail did say they working hard to get reviews down to just a few days.
