Topic: How is veer with vectors?

Has anyone noticed any obvious preferences there yet? (like SS doesn't want any flowers, abstract backgrounds, and icons right now)

Are their "likes" more geared toward new ideas, or run of the mill clip art or what?  What about vintage color schemes, and vintage-looking illustrations?

I ask because I signed u,p but haven't uploaded at all yet.  I've been reading that they're more artsy and it's easy to get rejected there.  - am I off my rocker?

I have some vintage-inspired stuff that is very simple in concept but sells well because it's "cool" - but some sites have rejected them for "too simple", not seeing the big picture - if you will, and I don't want to start out with a 100% rejection rate...

BTW - how the heck do you get the little icons at the bottom here showing your ports?

Go to your profile (link in the header row of the site), click on "forum profile information", fill in the details per site.

Can't tell you nothing about vectors, I only do photos...

Thanks Dirkr - I found it, but on Cutcaster I can't find my ID# anywhere in my account - only my username....

BTW - your nature shots are wonderful.

I am a vector contributor there, but so far it has resulted in ZERO downloads. And very slow reviewing times, at least back in november.

Of my 55 submitted images, 3 were rejected, because they apparently didn't fit in their collection. Their loss. I won;t be submitting there any more images. complete waste of time.

To show your portfolio icons, make a minimum of 10 posts or so...

I am have been a Veer contributor from January. Only uploaded 50 vector right now and I am selling 1 vector per month, with a 7.00$ earning each so the return is pretty interesting, I just might need to upload all my portfolio.

Thanks guys - of your rejections - have you seen a pattern of refusals for certain images?

Am I wrong in assuming that they are harder to get into than other sites?

I'm currently approved on - SS, DT, FT, CAN, 123RF, GL, BS - but these are not that hard to get into, or so I hear.

The only rejections I get from Veer is the technical one that states I have open paths. But there aren't any, just unfilled strokes that for whatever reason their automated or human inspectors don't know the difference. All were accepted by IS and they are notorious for their technical rejections.

I maybe sell one or two a month there but the $7 royalty is nice. Only had one payout in a year, but close to the second one now.  Smiley

I just got a rejection on a batch of five images that I've never seen before at any site.

"Legacy Artboards: Make sure the artboards box is not checked when saving."

Which means you have to release the crop area before saving as EPS (object -> crop area -> release).
Never thought of it as a potential issue for buyers, but I guess different software has different complications. Nevertheless Veer is the only agency I've come across who regards this as an issue and a reason for rejection.

I saw that legacy artboards info on istock too, I think...

...overall though, do you find them any tougher then the sites above them in ranking?

I have a 99% acceptance with Veer. Not the same with others, so IME Veer is not tougher on acceptance, they just take a long time to review.

Yes Veer takes a lot of time to review, better not be in a hurry when you upload to them  Wink

2nd Follow up - finally approved after 17 days - boy, that was the longest I've waited yet to see if I can be a contributor...

(I know some of you are with sites where it takes much longer)  Wink

Hey, good to hear your files have been approved. IMO, they have the best earning potential among the middle tier sites, this year.

Kudos on your acceptance. I upload to other sites and Veer takes the longest by far. Good luck to you.
