Hello ! I'm on veer since more than a year now, sales are low but images are easy to upload so I have a portefolio and few sales. But it's been few month that veer website error happens most of the time and also the review time is getting longer and longer than it was before. Is veer abandoned ? And also, the image on the website the boy holding a leaf, is it just me or this image is lacking visual impact to be on the cover of a microstock site ?

hello again julied83. how are you???
you just joined veer?
veer came out a while back when the dinosaurs roamed the earth
and was dead in the water .
it cannot die , because it never lived in the first place ;)

I'm on veer since more than a year. I liked the interface and the easy uploading. But now nothing got approved, nothing sale. And the front is just not nice for contributor. Look it is abandoned

Not quite dead, only mostly dead. Lifetime earnings since 2009 = $1924. I generally make around $200 a year with 840 files. Comes in handy around Christmas.  ;)

Never was much. I liked it better when we had Snapvillage with the orange and black. Reminded me of halloween all year. Veer has never been serious for most.

No, Veer is not dying. You have to exist before to die

It may not be dead just yet, but certainly in cardiac arrest.  I've had one sale there this month and that's one of the better months this year.   :'(   If I reach payout in my lifetime, I'll cash out and pull my port.

Speaking of payout, what is it these days?  It's been so long (if ever) I don't remember what to look for.

Pay out is $100 I believe - ironically and sadly about the highest in the industry - getting a payout from them is on my bucket list of really ambitious dreams!

I'm only at 36$  :(  Wish there is a way to cash out and remove my port.

I requested to close my account and pay me out, I never received a reply or whatsoever and my port is still active.

Here is my experience with veer:

Submission pages regularly break down.
FTP does not work with FileZilla, the most widely used FTP client.
Annoying submission limits and unpredictable approval times.
Performs to me financially as second worst.
Terrible unintuitive interface that can't be changed to pure english.
Those weird links with possibly broken html where you need to click below their text in order to open them.
They always expect you to click hundreds of keyword disamiguations, which is something probably no one does.

So yeah, unless they fix *A LOT*, going dead will be the natural consequence.

Response:   220 NOTE: Please make sure to use "explicit FTP over TLS" to log in. SSL is optional.
Command:   AUTH TLS
Response:   234 AUTH command ok. Expecting TLS Negotiation.
Status:   Initializing TLS...
Status:   Verifying certificate...
Command:   USER myusername
Status:   TLS/SSL connection established.
Response:   331 Password required for myusername.
Command:   PASS ************

My "explicit FTP over TLS" is enabled of course

The site is totally broken and has been for years. Search just doesn't seem to work, portfolio links broken and on and on. It definitely needs CPR but I don't think anyone on their end is interested in fixing it.

220 NOTE: Please make sure to use "explicit FTP over TLS" to log in. I think this is not "normal" and I had to set it up  fuzzy on detail it was a while ago  ;) Sorry just read your post :-(.

I did the same. Left about $10 on the table, but it still felt good to be out of there.

why leave $10?

they will pay it if you request it..

I removed my images last year and closed my contributor account.. there was if I remember right, something like $46 in my account which was still below threshold and they paid that..

yeah I had to remind them a couple of times and it took over 2 months but they did pay eventually..

regardless the amount, it's your money and you should request it even if it's a dollar only.. it's about principals, not about the money..

I can't imagine a scenario where you owe an agency a few dollars and they just let you keep it.. so why should you?

The people at Veer acted correctly when I closed my account in November.  They removed my images and payed the remaining $75 within a month.

Maybe they did pay it. Been several years now, and I can't swear that's actually what happened.

Either way, it wasn't life or death to me.

Don't think Getty will be hiring them if Veer is the best they can do. :)

Review takes months. Years ago I had a lovely $90 single sale on Veer. Has hoping for other ones like that to come... never happened. I haven't even reached my second payout after that.
And yes, frequent errors on Website and ftp.

Well they've just sold themselves to some Chinese company I've never heard of, so maybe things will get better or maybe they'll get worse (if that's possible). Check out your e-mail folders or the other thread about Veer if you don't know about it.

For it to get worse they'll have to come round my house and rob me.......I'm hanging on in the vain hope it just might get better though I suspect they might just close veer down and I might get my paltry funds sitting in there (If im lucky).

Well, if they've got your portfolio it wouldn't be strictly necessary for them to visit your house to rob you. I'm already a little perturbed by the number of views I got on Veer without any sales.
I'm closing my Veer account and hoping they will put my paltry earnings into my card - I think I got two or three sales there last year from 700 images, but I've got the price of a few drinks sitting there from previous years.

Veer did sort of ok for me (ok being about $20-50/month with about 300 images), but last week i got the email they are bought by Getty now.
I immediately contacted them to delete my portfolio asap, but so far i cant reach anyone there and dont get any response to my emails; its infuriating me at this point. I want my portfolio taken down, they just ignore me.
Anyone had any luck with this and know what it takes to have MY images taken off their site (and the partnersites i never wanted my images on in the first place)?

I've contact veer and I have no answer neither. I had also pending files but no review for a while like no one is there anymore.

I sent an e-mail to them about a month ago requesting they delete all images and close my account.  Got a "boiler plate" e-mail back that they had received my request.  No other details.  I understand their T&C's indicate they have 30 days to comply with each request.  I'll wait another week to be sure I've passed the 30 day period and then check back.  As of yesterday, everything was still up and running.

I sent a image removal request to Veer contributor support... twice.  It's been two weeks and no one has replied.  Has anyone heard anything from contributor support this year?  Do they still have contributor support?
