With all the challenges getting images on the site it may take awhile, but I hope eventually sales at Veer will be comparable to Fotolia sales.  I doubt they will reach istock levels, although I would love to be pleasantly surprised :)

Same people responsible for SnapVillage fiasco are there so I am not expecting much from them.

I like the way some people have written them off already.  None of us have a clue how well they will do.  I hope they learn the lessons from SV and I will give them at least a year to get going.

I think the most important is how entire economy is doing. If giants like Google have to downsize because of shrinking advertising budgets what would you expect from much smaller businesses? It's going to be survival of the fittest :-) Definitively larger companies got bigger chance to survive. When economy start going up we will see increase across the board and stronger parties will probably start snapping weaker ones.

The same people responsible for Veer are there so I feel just the opposite about it. I actually have experience and knowledge about the Veer company beyond being a disgruntled SV contributor.

Time will tell I guess.

I you were referring to me, actually I was definitely not writing them off.. I believe they will do quite well in about 1 year.. But I thought this poll is about the launch and next few months!

If this poll is about near future, yes people who expect them to sell as much as IS are really in for a rude awakening ;D

But, if the poll is about the future, like 1 or 2 years from today; then I believe they will do well.. That's why I signed up! To support a new rival site against getty empire!

It says "late summer and after" so I guess it's wide open for interpretation. :)

I hope they rise fast; but to be honest, I am not really expecting much in the beginning!

Considering Veer's reputation and the market they already have, my hopes for Veer are high in the long term. I don't expect they make as much as StockXpert or Fotolia in august and september but I expect them to be above 123RF in a couple of months and hope they will be on par with DT in a year or two.

I'm not in Veer, but it is interesting to see it has been dominating the forum lately.

last month they earnt about half of what I normally earn from BigStock or 123. considering it is half the portfolio, and the site still isn't complete or being rolled out to customers yet (I think :)).  I find that very promising.  my hope is that within in a year to be scraping into big 6, top4 in two years (but then I hope all the sites are going crazy and so similar in sales you'd struggle to pick number 1 :))

This is my thinking too.  I voted Fotolia, but don't expect that in the first year.  I am thinking after a year or more when they have become established they should be a force in the industry.

Of course that assumes all goes well.  And I hope that if they become one of the top sites they lean closer to DT's level of contributor service, rather than FT's.
