I have stuff sitting in the queue for six weeks now.

How long has it been for you lately?

They are definitely a strange site.  I had 10 sales in sept, none in Oct, Nov Dec, Jan, then had 10 in Feb, then zip in March and zip of far in April.  I am still not sure about them, but the payouts are nice when you do get sales.  My 10 sales were a hodgepodge of subjects so nothing specific.  So I don't get why so much time goes by between sales other than them really effing with search placement.

I recently joined VB. The first impression is very very bad: I have files waiting to be reviewed for seven weeks already and time keeps running.

It is indeed a very, very strange agency.
In two years I have always had 2 sales per month, every single month, same sales when I had about 50 file as now with over 2000! Actually my best month was the first one: 4 sales with a dozen of files (a sort of welcome agreement). Then 2 sales per month, every month, actually in April I had 3, but one was refunded after a couple of days.
I have never sold a file more than once.
The files I sell at VB are the ones that don't get even a view in other agencies, the really bad ones.
Really dodgy results in my opinion.

As for review times about 2 to 5 weeks

Well, their library is also growing at a very high rate.

But I agree. I have around 500 files there and get 2-4 sales every month basically since last year (except June/July). Haven't uploaded hardly anything new in a long time.

I have started to upload footages, none has been reviewed yet.

What is the percentage that a contribute gets from a sale? Thanks!

You missed their #1 selling point?  :)
