Hi Everyone  ;D

Has anyone else noticed a review time slowdown at Yay?  I am just wondering if it has something to do with all the upgrades they are doing to their site.

I submitted a total of 10 files to them on March 29 and they are still awaiting approval.

BTW... they changed their image requirements.  Images now have to be a minimum of 6 MP.

Yeah, they definitely slowed down. Which is weird, since all they seem to be doing for "review" is clicking an "accept" button. Not that it matters - I just can't seem to get a sale, no matter that my portfolio is larger there than elsewhere.

I got a bunch of sales from them at the end of last year...but nothing since.

I know, I hear people talk about sales there and I wonder what I am doing wrong...

Well if it's any solace... it took me a year before I saw any sales there.... and my portfolio is small @ around 700 photos.

Hang in there!  :)

Nearly seems like no reviews are done at the moment.  ???  Anyone got a review through in the last 2-3 weeks?

Hi CD,

Had stuff sitting in in the review queue as of Saturday (April 21) which had been there for a couple of weeks... but looked in there today and they've been added to my portfolio.

Did your stuff get reviewed today?

I uploaded 18 images last week, reviewed in under 7 days. I thought they had sorted themselves out but its sounds as if mine were just a blip.

Sorry mate, I was very surprised when I found they had been reviewed usually I upload there and forget about them as it tends to be 3 to 4 weeks before they are reviewed. Now all I need is a few more sales there.

You should be sorry! That type of blatant queue jumping is frowned upon from the highest quarters.  ;D

They started reviewing mine today and responded to my ticket saying that they try to work out ways to get through the backlog.

Review taking about 1-2 weeks lately at worst, but yep, there are sales there. Infrequent, but sometimes very well paying.

I've had a number of christmas vectors waiting to be reviewed since around 10 October, since then I've uploaded other vectors and it's now sitting at 49 uploaded.

By the time my christmas stuff gets reviewed it looks like xmas will be over and forgotten >:(

Sorry to quote my own post, but these 49 images I referred to were approved a few days ago, but have completely disappeared. They are not in my portfolio :o

Well, I gather they were approved, coz they disappeared from 'waiting for review' and none were displayed in 'rejected'.

Sent email off to Yay this morning but got no reply as yet.

Bad enough having to wait sooooo long for review but then for the whole 49 vectors to just disappear is ludicrous  >:(  :'(

Somehow I get a very uncomfortable feeling about what is happening at Yay, even considering Linda's email (http://www.microstockgroup.com/yaymicro/more-api%27s/). The backlog might perhaps not be their only problem. The huge inflow of images might be putting their server under some unexpected stress as well.

Keep us up to date toots, you got my sympathy for one.

Same thing happened to me.  I had around 200 pics waiting for review and I noticed yesterday that a few of them were rejected and the rest were nowhere to be found.  I'm hoping that there is just some delay between them being accepted and actually showing up in the portfolio.

Considering their feedback on load, I will not get worried for at least 48 hours after review (not sure what their normal processing period is, maybe someone can help us here with that info).

Normally as soon as the review is completed they go straight into your portfolio that day. Certainly by now mine should be showing up as it has been well over 48 hours, which is why I dropped an email to Yay.

same here, 150 images in the ether. I'm guessing just a sync delay or sorts, will give it another day or so before I shoot an email.

Will be interested to see what your response says tho toots.

Glad for you toots. Think I might have upset the regime there, had 24 out of 26 images refused (most before that was about 2 out of a batch). Some of those has already sold multiple times on SS. Oh well, it is my decision not to hide behind aliases and take responsibility for my opinions, so if I get targeted for that, so let it be.  ;)

Ooooh, that is painful. A bit harsh if it's something to do with your postings here though. Surely Yay wouldn't do that to someone, would they  ???

Well, at least they're selling on SS  :)

Anything is possible. Hopefully it is just one of the new reviewers getting over excited with all the buttons  ;D  I resubmitted the 6 best. Will see what happens.

Well toots all 6 rejected in record time for: "Please improve image editing/post processing (like all the others where).

With an approximate acceptance rate of about 98% and suddenly getting 24 out of 26 rejected, with a lot of them already selling at SS, you tell me if you think it is not personal?

not personal "please improve composition/background' is just the latest subjective replacement for LCV - just how are you supposed to improve composition after the fact?   they've also started rejecting any picture with a person in it as requiring a model release, but wont accept those as editorial either.

i dont have time to waste on trying to guess what a lowsales site might want - i upload, let them take what they want, and forget about it

Like the site, that is why I kept going for 2 years with 1 payout so far. But if this is the crap they are going to start with and throw stuff out that most of the big sites accepts, even uploading will be a waste of time. Will just take them of the list and check if there is another payout in 2 years time (if they are still there).

ok, here's and even more ridiculous rejection reason that's been used for entire batches several times now -- "too many similars"  -- however, these were almost entirely NEW images, with little similarity even within the batch!
