Yay has been strangely quiet in the news/promotion area for some time. Looking at my best 270 images with zero sales in months I'd have to conclude that someone has pulled the plug on this site. Yet their blog and forum are both active.

Has anyone received any news at all about Yay?

I had newly two newsletters from them - one in Norwegian and one in English. They were both informative and outlined their product offers.

On the forum they said they are actively going after customers ....... But .......

according to this, their views are going down below low.

I have over 1700 images on there .... Me thinks me might have made a boo-boo in doing that!

For the good news, On Featurepics.com I got 4 sales right away and i just started uploading to them a couple of weeks ago.

Just 2 sold so far but I will give them some time to get going. They could be another albumo but it seems a bit too early to write them off.

I have yet to find where their huge advertising campaign is... No sales so far...

They never promised a huge advertising program. In fact they promised not to spend a lot of money for traditional marketing. That was the first warning sign that this would almost certainly be another Lucky Oliver -- bragging about how they were doing "non-traditional marketing". I sense an early demise. They haven't had an upload from me for months and won't until I'm satisfied it's not just a further waste of time.

With seemingly little in terms of sales, it now looks like contributors are beginning to stop uploading.

Not a thing for me yet. But their uploading process is so painless (in comparison to some sites) that it's not a huge deal. I'll hang on in there for a while. See how it goes.

Ease of uploading is about the only thing Yay's got going for it now. Still, I won't even waste that time on a site that has, in my opinion, a zero future. If I was the financial backer I'd seek a buyer for the site's software.

At the moment there seems to be very little communication between the site and contributors.
To me this is not a good sign!

Yes, it's a pity that Yay has sort of fell into a stupor

Like Featurepics, Yay had the best communicative staff, lots of optimism
at the start but unfortunately, poor sales crew.
Goes to show that there is still a need to have some great brain in marketing
to succeed, even if your crew is the most liked of all the sites.
Still, I wish Yay, and Featurepics , will eventually hire some great marketing people as I gave them many of my best images.
That being said, some of the crap I have with micro sites are selling.
Go figure!

Jeez. Give them a bit more time. If it wasn't for Lucky Oliver I think we'd never see this discussion about Yay this early. And if we actually want them to succeed stopping uploads is probably the dumbest thing to do...

Dumbest thing? They've had plenty of images and enough time to see some meaningful uptick in both traffic and sales. I'd say the dumbest thing is to keep uploading into a black hole with the hope that sometime somehow some good would come of it. I'd say that if we haven't seen some realistic improvements by now the chances of a meaningful outcome is close to zero. I'm not betting any more time or effort on this one.
