and boy was it dumb, thanks to Elenathewise's patience, we figured out why people could upload some files but then it would fail:  the built in MB quota was set at 50 Megabytes, so people have been pretty much instantly exceeding that.   

The limit has now been set to an ungodly high amount so please, if you have tried to FTP and have been frustrated, we encourage you to come back and try again!
