I sold a few in August, September and October last year but nothing since.  I uploaded new photos and thought the site might be going places but this is disappointing.  Anyone getting any sales?

Are you doing any better at Cutcaster?

Sales happen occasionally for me, but the high commission pays for it.  Had one sale this month.

Adelaide

Oh yes we are going somewhere...We had a rich month in December (maybe not affecting everyone), pulled out of Beta, fixed bugs, redesigned our home page, hired more editors and are about to launch a major Marketing campaign, the first in a series.
We have been extremely busy and remain dedicated to our task. All should see the rewards soon.

Nice to see the beta has gone.  I hope the marketing works, the sales I have had were for higher prices than the micro sites, so I am still hoping zymm makes it big.

No, I had two sales there a few months ago and nothing since but the site hasn't been around as long and I will give them some time.

$125 all up but

last sales were 3 in oct and before that was july

they are still being uploaded to, but high rejections particularly when it can be a long time from when they transfer from ftp, so you basically dont know when to go back and check that model releases are attached, keywords uploaded etc (so I stopped bothering and those ones just get rejected)

Phil sorry about the inconvenience, I've got some new web servers being put together as I write this that will allow us to finally make the FTP a fluid process. Not limiting peoples uploads comes at the expense of requiring more system resources.   Some previous attempts to make the FTP > Queue virtually instantaneous came at the expense of other processes.. so now we are simply throwing hardware at the problem to ensure the load can be handled.

Also, I know you and some others have graphics waiting for a long time- these are starting to move now, and will shortly be reviewed at the same tempo as the photos.

thanks

How was the first quarter of 09 for everyone?  I don't have time for slow earners right now, but I've definitely got my eye on this place.

I only had one sale, in January, but then my portfolio at Zymm is very small.

No sales in the first quarter. I had one sale in the last quarter last year. Very small portfolio here too, helped by almost 0% acceptance rate lately.

I should mention that they introduced the FTP Synch button in the Describe section, for those (like me) who have been waiting forever to move the files from FTP to the Describe section.

2 sales so far this year but I will continue giving them a chance, as they sell for higher prices than the micros and give me 70%.  Last year was much better and I hope it is just more people uploading that has diluted my sales.

Two sales in 2009 Q1, 8$, 18$ - One sale Q4 2008, 20$. Sites like Zymmetrical need everybody's support since they offer a decent reward and a more than decent share of the pie (70%). Keith is very responsive too.

No sales yet, but I won't give up. My approval ratio is poor, so I guess my images are not very high in the search. Also, I didn't pay much attention on putting most relevant keywords in the top and Zymmetrical search engine supports 40 keywords in total. Almost all my images have 50 keywords, and my keywords are almost always in alphabetical order,
so I guess some important keywords from my images are not searchable, but that's my fault.
I could notice it earlier, and I could fix it.

Keith is a nice person and he is always trying to help. I'm glad people have sales at Zymmetrical. I hope the site will evolve into big agency.

I didn't hear that approval ratio played a role in search.

I wrote a script for that, 2 or 3 years ago. Since then, my keywords are ranked by relevancy. It didn't pay off, since most sites still alphabetize the keywords. Dreamstime and Bigstock use the repeat keywords from title/description as an indication for relevancy. I had that from inside info 3 years ago. That's probably why my sales are good at both sides. I still don't know how to handle iStock. If mr. Locke is reading, maybe he could put up a guide for dummies how to optimize keywords for iStock.

@FD: the approval ratio is a factor in ranking but it's not a high one, since we recognize that we are making high demands of people with low-volume, sporadic returns. Until we can provide more communication on what exactly the best-selling content is, it's not very fair to hammer peoples ranking based on their best-guesses with the upload.. so the dial setting for 'reject punishment' is currently present, but at quite a low setting. People with a serious uploading issues where they are not editing their content in any way at all are dealt with personally.

I can say that the biggest trend in general is no trend: the long tail search rules all.  More info on this will be available to members shortly with our upcoming statistics/analytics feature.

I had my second sale there today and I reached my first payout. Smiley It's good to see that the sales are still going on there.

I only uploaded 5 photos like a year ago and haven't checked to see if I had any sales in months. Sure enough, I got one in April. $17.50. For only having 5 images online I am pretty happy with that... so I'm going to upload some more when I get the chance.

That is great getting $70 for an EL sale.  What a difference from most of the micro sites.  The buyer pays a similar amount but we get lots more, I like that Smiley

This encouraging news is almost a year old. How soon is "soon"? I didn't have any sale since March 3. What now?
