We're approaching the 10th million image mark FAST. To commemorate this epic milestone, we're rewarding the owner of image ID 10,000,000 with an Apple Macbook Air.

I don't think most contributors are as excited as they used to be about collections growing so large as it typically means less downloads from more competition, and getting lost in the stack.

I don't think buyers are either...... but winning the laptop would be nice

Thank you for the incentive Anglee.

Sorry, but some contributors find it hard to accept that this industry, like all others, do grow, with more entrants. If the economy allows, there should be more buyers as well, which should even it out. If not, the bad contributors will still stay bad and fall out of the race and the good ones will still make money. It is just a question of more competition (which is the case in all industries), which works towards improving the overall standard of work necessary to make a success.

Those with pride and faith in their product will not feel threatened by the extra competition.

I don't even submit to 123, so I don't really care.  I was just making discussion.  If you look at the IS this-or-that-million posts from the past, contributors have really stopped woo-yaying as much as they did before, since they realize an ever expanding database means less chances for their work to be found, regardless of pride and faith.

With or without a woo-yay, it is going to happen, one can just as well make the best of it (like accepting 123RF's initiative - understanding that it is a big milestone for them).

Agree with both comments.  123 has inched past iStock this month, making it my 2nd biggest earner.  And I'm seeing long review times as well, which I guess is the problem with success.

There's a saying, "Without you, there's no US!"

But I'm from the UK.  ;)  ;D
Nice to see 123rf progressing. I like the way they aren't crazy picky about accepting images and I also like the way my sales have increased to be on a par with at least one of the big 4, over the past several months.

Its a good and honest site! and they are trying hard and should be rewarded for it. I wish them luck.

Have to agree with Sean, Im not too keen on big collections either,  makes it harder for both buyers and contributors.
