Title: 123RF - New contributor dashboard
Post by: anathaya on July 26, 2016, 03:08
Did anyone see the new contributor dashboard: http://www.123rf.com/contributor/index.php (http://www.123rf.com/contributor/index.php)
Clean design, like it!

I'm not sure what they mean by 'Top downloads'.
It would be useful if it shows unpaid $ amount as well.

Good, finally we no more need to click 9 times + enter a captcha to get the monthly earnings!!

Nice lets hope the coding underneath has improved to reduce the numerous glitches on the site. Pity my earning graph is pointing the wrong way :-)

This looks good, thanks for letting know. But one thing I am missing - the number of credits? I can only see my "Contributor Level:4" at the home page but I cannot find the credit total for the last 12 months. Can you see it anywhere?

They are apparently still working on this - I didn't realize anything had changed as I had bookmarked http://www.123rf.com/submit/downloaded_stats.php (http://www.123rf.com/submit/downloaded_stats.php) which still works, thankfully

That still shows 32.4 cent for a subscription and all the fractional cents for other sizes too.

If they're going to pay in fractions of a cent they need to provide us with accounting that shows that - otherwise how can anyone who wants to stuff numbers into a spreadsheet keep track?

If for some reason they are cutting our compensation I think they'd have changed this, which they haven't

http://www.123rf.com/contrib_structure.php (http://www.123rf.com/contrib_structure.php)

The other thing I'm not too thrilled abut is that the new stats appear to be lagging. My old style stats show a sale this morning but the new style ones say no sale today.

What I would really have liked is a monthly list, with thumbnails (like the old one) but with the most recent sales first so you can easily check on what's changed since the last time you visited the site.

The new pages are prettier but there's information in too many separate places - my goal is to spend the least possible amount of time checking up on how things are going.

Wow, I love it! It is the most beautiful design in all agencies, I hope it works too.
Now, with this done, they will have more time to sell some images too.

I am missing the sold image size on earnings (daily) page. So if I have 5 sales a day (which I don't) I see only the total number of sales and earnings total.
Anyone knows if this column is gone forever from stat or I'm looking in the wrong place?

Very nice, It shows clearly my sales plummeting  from May to July in spite of the fact that I almost doubled my port during those two months  :-\

Well my port is still small but the graph is depressing.

dashboard is better, time to fix the upload process that most of the time doesn't work. More importantly they could get rid of their ridiculous RC system and move me back to 36c per subscription while they're at it.

Post by: Dodie on July 27, 2016, 03:41

I consider this a pay cut!!!

They did not reduce earnings but they applied a work around with similar effect. What you see is decimal round off, they always did that but earnings were shown in three decimal digits on old site and now they round off to two decimals.
ex.: level two subscription was 0.252, now it is 0.25
Then they apply 10% taxes (in my case) which they also round off, so 10% of 0.25 is not 0.025 but 0.03 (which is ~ 12%).

So instead of 0.252 I get 0.22.

Higher values are round off too ( 1.029 → 1.03) but they don't happen so often.

Apparently the new view doesn't show the current day's sales at all. Yesterday, I could look at the old list and see the sales getting added but nothing showed up in the new view (no sales for that day). Today, I see yesterday's sales, but nothing for today (and there are some as I can see via the old page.

I understand that this looks prettier, but it's got to improve on the accuracy front (showing actual not rounded amounts)  showing today's sales, not just showing them a day in arrears.

For me it shows a massive drop-off in sales over the past 2 months, massive. How insanely discouraging since this is happening across all sites. Except Shutterstock, it's holding steady for me.

No complaints about the RC system on 123 from me. We have to accept that these systems are the way the wind is blowing and the one on 123 has perfectly achievable levels if you are any good. I am level 6 and my skill level is pretty average. The problem is with sites like istock or ss through bigstock, where the system is no system at all. It is just a way to claim they pay much higher comissions than they do.

Yes, it's not real time reporting, I can also see sales for today on the old site but nothing on the new one.
There are some delays in indexing too; I had a batch approved on the 25th, before or during the changes and those images don't show up in my port or in search. I contacted support and I got an answer in less than an hour, saying that it could take a week till new images are batched.

"(showing actual not rounded amounts)...." I don't think we will see not rounded amounts ever again, this is the price we pay for the new look.

I can now see three digit amounts in the daily sales information. So I guess they can combine a new look with accurate accounting (that was a pretty lame excuse)

It's still a day in arrears

This time I'm glad that I was wrong with my assumption. Contributor level is back too. Everything will be all right in time. There are no changes in the system, just the layout is changed and small glitches can happen everywhere. They asked for feedback, so it's nice that they are listening. I have no reason to complain (except sales).

About rejections in 123rf, they usually happen when you take a close-up from very close. They don't like this type of composition, at least when I do it.  :D

If you're level 6 at 123 then I'd imagine your being modest with your skill level or have one massive portfolio.

I have considerably less than 10,000 images and I'd say mos of the pre 2014 content is utter poo. If I can reach the levels most people could with enough hard work. As opposed to IS or BS where you can forget about it.

I definitely agree that the Istock Rc system is stupid, especially when subs or partner program don't contribute. Well it's not stupid it achieves what they wanted, stripping royalties from contributors

I like it, but the earnings page still doesn't sync.
The old downloads page shows what I have sold today. All 3 pages on the new dashboard show no sales for today.

Great improvement though

Hi All,

It's been a week since you’ve experienced our new contributor's dashboard. We hope you’re liking the little changes we’ve made to the contributor's platform. *bow

On that note, we’d like to apologise for being quiet all these while. We’ve been looking at all feedback and comments (both the positive and negative!) that you all have provided and have made some tweaks based on them.

The New Dashboard is just the beginning of improvements we plan to introduce. Changes to the uploading platform and review process are the next in the pipeline, and, of course there’ll be more to come in the future.

Before I forget, allow me to briefly introduce myself.

My name is Eric Tay, I am the Assistant Manager - Creative Community of 123RF. Simply put, my role basically is to communicate with you (123RF contributors) and work together to create a better platform for you.

A special shoutout to all of you here, thanks for supporting 123RF all this while. We’ve made it this far because of the cooperation of all of our contributors. I will try my best to deliver an outcome that hopefully lives up to your expectations.

You can contact me through my email, [email protected] or our support team at [email protected]. Feel free to get in touch with us, and share with us your concerns and ideas.

Hello everyone,

I'm new to 123RF and I'm kinda confused with the submission process.

I uploaded 70 or so royalty free footage clips, I filled in the descriptions and keywords for all of them and have them saved. Above each clip it says pending, but these clips are all still listed under incomplete when I look at my history. Am I missing something here? Are these clips cued for the review or do I still have some final process to complete?

I tried to contact them a few days ago but have not heard back.

They are queued for review. But the review of RF footage is really slow there. More often than not, it takes few months.

So it's months over there? That's too bad.

Is it the same deal for images, or do they get reviewed faster?

In my experience, current review times are:
RF footage (slowest: few months) > RF images > Editorial footage > Editorial images (fastest: few days)

Would like to see today's sales on the dashboard, but even yesterday's aren't syncing properly.

Monthly and daily totals through yesterday show more images than what appears in the download stats tab.

What the *bleep* happened?! My sales tanked in August after all these *wonderful* changes...earned less than 1/6th of my normal average. I haven't had a month that bad since October 2006 at 123RF!!! Please don't tell me 123RF pulled a Fotolia move and relegated my portfolio (and others) to the bottom of the heap where I'll never see sales again.

I uploaded some footage over a year ago, only a few clips because I found the upload system so unusual that I gave up.
I decided to give another try with 123RF a year later and, to my surprise, the few clips were on my portfolio and I even had a sale!
In the last couple of months I have uploaded about 300 clips, but they are still there waiting for review.
I am glad to see someone from the company here, because so far I was thinking this was a ghost agency

Yes, sales crashed for me too.  Hope 123 isnt following the examples of the other sites that have contributors levels, and moving high level ports to the back of the search.  Short term way to boost company earnings, but every site that did it eventually lost customers and sales.

Mine only shows 2012 sales for Jan and then flatlines the rest of the year.

It does clearly show no doubling of sales when that was promised to go along with our hefty percentage cuts with the RC system when it was implemented.

At least we can get more info without dealing with the "you will not see this page unless you have logged out" Captcha annoyance.
