They promised us much more sales, my earnings and sales after commission cut went down by 60-70%

Consider to close my account there very soon.

How about you?

Funny how they are hiring people in every country to promote more marketing (just received an email about new staff in Colombia) but their site is falling apart

stopped uploading even they have easiest upload process.

They just fall of the cliff so fast for me that's unbelievable. In 2 months 70%

and even I need to remind them every time to do their only job, review my images.

They will probable be closed by this time next year.

I thought the same and I stopped providing new stuff but since they were bought by inmagine it seems like they are pushing hard in the marketing side. But for contributors is just crap. And their uploading process was horrible for me. Best so far is depositphotos even if they don't sell much neither

In theory pushing marketing is not a bad thing as it should result in more sales. Sounds like it might not be working though which is a lose lose.

Sales were decent for a while after our percentage dropped, but maybe flat or somewhat down, then they fell off a cliff and then they lowered our take again and then because the sales were so lousy dropped my percentage even more so I stopped uploading.

They were doing ok, and then went downhill a lot and then went downhill more.

My experience too maybe for once a marketing push will help....in my experience though a cut in royalties and increased marketing usually fails.

More microstock agency lies ~ I used to make an average of $10 to $15 per month I'm down to $5 per month.

I stopped uploading at the time they cut royalties and I've deleted around 500 images.

$5-$15 a month now. Used to be about $200 a month. On life support. I don't bother uploading any new content there.  Them as well as DT are on a ventilator.

There were no acquisitions - Andy and Stephanie Sitt started Inmagine and 123rf and they still own them. You can read some of the history here

https://e27.co/interview-stepahanie-sitt-123rf-inmagine-group-malaysia-20190218/

https://www.techinasia.com/malaysian-husband-wife-bootstrapped-worlds-top-stock-image-players

They had grand ideas of an IPO which hasn't happened and I think just took their eye off the ball leading to this implosion

https://www.reuters.com/brandfeatures/venture-capital/article?id=3215

I bailed a while ago at the point that their sales drops took me down a level in the royalty scheme.

To answer your original question, between 2012 (when they introduced their new royalty scheme with the rolling 12 month sales total determining your rate) and 2017 when I left, my income just declined. It was a cash crab for themselves, pure and simple.

I closed my account but they doesn't pay the pending money. I also lost my time there.

I can't believe there are so many contributors still working with them. If people don't respect their own work they shouldn't expect agencies to do so. I deleted everything almost an year go. I remember that at the end even my measly royalty level was not respected. Every sale was part of some special deal and I was getting around half of what I was due.

Sadly its what these agencies rely on. A bunch of desperate hopefuls that come along and hope to be the next big thing in photos/videos etc. and make a living.

They don't care because theres always new people to flim flam

They are all carpet baggers and snake oil salesmen  ;D

offtopic:

The beauty of international forums and endless knowledge and history references. I will never use this expression, but it was nice to google the meaning and learn something new.

Ok, here is a comment "...no reconstruction era for us though..."

Now, let's google those snake oil salesmen!

Yes, I also didn't know what this means and read a complete article on wikipedia about this, very interesting. Time goes by but we keep doing the same.

I'm still uploading there because I have made upload process so easy - just one click at checkbox and it goes... But I'm thinking if it is even worth effort of that click...

"Contemporarily speaking, the term carpetbagger refers to roving financial opportunists"

Or In my view "In Australia, the term "carpetbagger" refers to unscrupulous dealers and business managers in indigenous Australian art"  ;D

My sales are halved first and now it's about a 1/3 of previous income.

In 2018 I made just a little more than I was making at 123RF in a month in 2016.

I stopped uploading when they took away the ability to download your own images (It acted like a secondary backup for my files).

The irony is that we don't close accounts until the agencies stop selling our stuff, by which time our work no longer matters to them so they won't miss us.

Well, more than doubled or quadrupled, I'd say that my sales got multiplied by 0.4 :p

As a newbie I've started with them too, but deleted all pictures.

I hate the user interface and uploading and review process.
