Title: Am I missing a setting or is this the way 123RF works?
Post by: CJM Grafx on April 15, 2013, 15:46
Other than the issue I posted yesterday about having half of my FTP uploaded files not show up on the site, another issue I have noticed - no e-mails regarding inspected files. I have had 65 photos accepted and 3 rejected, but the only reason I know is because I logged in  to the site to check to see if they had been reviewed.

There is no explanation on the site why the three were rejected and since I didn't receive an e-mail explaining why, I can only assume... and that in itself confuses me, since two of the rejected files are decent sellers elsewhere, one of them has sold over 65 times.

I have also had a few photos rejected by the system (both FTP and site upload) for being too small a file size... again an issue that baffles me. The files are from a 10mp camera and sell as a large file on other sites.

Is there something I am missing or since I don't have much invested here yet, should I not waste my time?

Thanks for any insight more experienced folks with this site can give me!

The email comes with a delay and the rejection reason is posted next to the image.

I never get emails on rejections. Simply go to "history" and click on the number against rejected images. It will then not only show the actual images which were rejected, but also to the right hand side of it, the reason is displayed.

Hey CJM Grafx,

Please PM your 123RF UID to me or email to [email protected] so that we can re-review the rejected images.

As explained by CD123, you can go to the Upload History (http://www.123rf.com/submit/listmyuploaded.php) to view the upload stats. You'll be able to view the "Rejected reason" once you clicked on the "Rejected (http://submit.123rf.com/myuploaded.php?displayshow=r)" section at the Summary Stat that located at the bottom.

Images should be at least 6 Million pixels. Anything lesser will be automatically rejected. Thus, please check whether the uploaded images are at least 6MP.

Hope this can clear your doubt.

Please email to [email protected] or PM me if the same thing happens.

Regards,
Anglee

Another reason why it just says "Rejected" without a reason are :
1. sometimes the image doesn't get processed nicely or
2. the upload process has some problems resulting in corrupted image.

In these cases, we will just reject it without a reason. Most of the time we reject images with a reason given, like Poor composition/lighting or Copyright / Brand infringements.

Thank you!

Alex

Thank you all for the replies, I appreciate you taking the time to help. CD123 and Ponke are correct, the reasons were shown to the right. The odd thing is, I looked there before posting here and there was nothing listed above the delete photo check box. They are there now though, so in the future I will just be a little more patient.

One is listed as "Dimension Below Requirements", so I need to see what is going on with that image... it's the photo I mentioned in my original post, my top selling photo at other sites, it was taken with a 10mp camera and sells as large file elsewhere. Even looking at the listed dimensions of it on the rejected page, it lists larger than most of the accepted photos.

Wouldn't it be helpful if something like 'upload problem' were given as a reason?
