I  have  99  on  site  with  another  19  pending.  That's  one  goal  for  2013  (100  pics  online).
Hopes  this  gets  me  some  sales.  Maybe  200-300  by  end  of  year  (pics  not  sales  -  but  that  many  sales  would  be  good).

I think in Microstock you do have to set production goals.

Mine is to get 200 into SS by the end of March which should mean 300 or so into 123RF.

One of my goals is to get online in SS 100 images a month, which will be tough to do as a part time, non-studio, non-people ( for now) shooter.

If you have a small port, 123 are a complete waste of time.  Volumes and prices are both too low and the RC system rewards quantity rather than quality.  I have ceased uploading and will drop them as soon as I get my day job sorted.

I  have  several  sub  sales  since  Jan 1st  and  even  though  it's  little  money  i  have  faith   that  2013  will  be  a  great  year.  If  not  -  nothing  ventured,  nothing  gained.

It's complete waste of time even with 5800 files like my port. The 123 outcome is  :-[.

Just a couple year ago my concerns where - How many images do I have on the microstock company and how many views am I getting- now I don't really care about either it is just 'Sales' that I am concern with on my portfolio.

For example, I have one particular image collection, consisting of 5 images, that have outsold other collections that have 100's of images thus I analyze these collections that produce great sales.

Bottom line- I don't waste my time worrying about how many images I have on a site or how many views an images gets. I spend my time on producing images that I feel have a high commercial value and make sure they are clean and key worded correctly.

I like to keep an eye on no images as I haven't really worked out what sells! As for views the sites seem very inconsistent so don't bother with them.

I have 132 images + 11 in editorials. My story is similar. I am not really worried about the sale right now.  My main focus is production. I am patient enough to make it something for me. I am doing my job, what happens next is matter of time and luck.

Congrats and I hope you put another 10000 images on 123rf. I think 123rf is awesome! I had a BME in march on 123rf and in the first week of Apirl I'm a third of the way to BME.  123rf has an easy uploading process and I have a 99% approval rating. 123RF is my fastest growing site. Thank 123RF!

I agree, approval is very high, I only have more on Deposit. And 123RF has the advantage of not having to categorize images. I have similar amounts of downloads and earnings on both as well. The average download pays $0.45 on both, even slightly ahead of Shutterstock but the latter makes up in volume and the two don't.

I think in Microstock you do have to set production goals.

I did have some strict production goals earlier, but nowdays I don't. Strict production goals don't allow to make images with high production value and quality. To make 100 images and get $10 per image (=$1000) isn't as rewarding as to make 10 images and get $100 per image (=$1000), I have noticed. Working without strict production goals allows me to work on some more complex images that doesn't have as much competition. Of course I also do run-of-the-mill shoots, but they are only a part of my production.

Don't get me wrong, I have some monthly production goals, just to make sure I produce at least something :)

I have around 200 pictures on 123RF and had 4 or 5 sales until now. Had 0 sales for months, I only started selling after I uploaded a batch of 70 pics, so they really do reward quantity...

Well, I was seeing an increase of DLs this year, and had my BME last month. So I figured if the trend continues in April, I would consider uploading again, and BAM, dead in April. 4 sales till today. Crash and burn. Sales go up sales go down, but its so volatile, it cant be right. If it continues like this it will be my WME.
