Title: Framing images in category

How much appreciate that a picture should be framed in a certain category?

This is often a waste of time for photography and I am not convinced that it matters a lot to search.
There are sites where not to do so - 123RF or Canstock such (are the keywords) and sales still occur.

I wait with great curiosity your views based on experience that you.

The only place where I will use a frame is where I leave the framed area open for text or where the buyer can insert his/her own material.  There are so many free "picture framing" software that even the most inexperienced buyer will be able to add his/her own frame around any picture they buy. So I will never frame any of my images as I think it will reduce its sellability.

I think categories are a huge waste of time.

Once upon a time, there were categories even in generic search engines (Altavista, Excite, Dmoz) and people were somehow used to it. Now that we all use Google, I doubt people even notice categories exist.

So whenever it's possible, I don't choose categories.

And if it's a "low earner", I don't submit altogether if categories are required.

Please, wannabe new stock agencies take note!

OK, I see that now thank you.  It takes a lot of time and if not compelled to do so, I do not do it any longer. Duncan from Canstock actually agreed that it is more important to have your images in Series, as your own images are then listed below your own image views, rather than another person's (which can improve your sales).

To my opinion categories can be quite important. Not that a lot of buyers search by category, but they can help to get more exposure through image linking, for example trough similars that show up for a certain image. I think categories are important to subs buyers to quickly check the most recent uploads in their categories on a daily basis.
