Apparently I have zero sales and am a level 1 contributor with no uploads.

Just had the same problem, and also then was asked to login and repeatedly told my password was incorrect. I changed it for safety sake.

I notice now, that when I go to check Downloads, I am being asked to agree to a new Contributor Agreement before proceeding. Just checking it through now......

No FTP for two days now.  I used the web uploader and that seems to have worked.  No releases on this batch though.

My images have been stuck in the queue for about two weeks now. Model released images have been reviewed within a day or so. The rest just sits there dying a slow death

That is contributor support... no comment. A big + for 123RF... the best communication with the suppliers in the industry. Regardless the problem i had whit the agency/site/images was fixed in 2-3 hours max.  ;D ;)

Keep up the good work... and don't forget (like many others agencies) that we (the contributors) keep your business running.

Not only broken, but they've thrown the captcha screen back in the middle., that says, "You will not see this prompt again unless you have logged out." Except you see it every time. Click on Upload, Click on Continue, enter captcha, go back to previous screen, click, continue, click continue, select options and get uploading please wait which never goes away.

Taking 123 out of my upload queue until this gets sorted out. I'll check back here in a day or two

Yeah, I don't have much understanding or patience on companies that make untested changes to systems or programs and turn them loose - especially over a weekend.

Hi Everyone,

We are in the midst of switching to a new image processing system that works along the same lines as our video and audio processing mechanism.

How this works is:
Via FTP:
1. Upload your files into FTP.
2. Go to the upload page (yes the captcha is a necessary step)
3. Pass the captcha challenge
4. Click FTP Settings / Check FTP Upload Results
5. Click Continue >>>
6. What this does is our system will transfer the files from your FTP folder into a queue.

Via Web form:
1. Upload your files into FTP.
2. Go to the upload page (yes the captcha is a necessary step)
3. Pass the captcha challenge
4. Click Web Form Uploader
5. Select the items that have to be uploaded
6. Check the appropriate check boxes and
7. Click Upload!
8. What this does is our system will transfer the files from your computer into into a queue.

Why is a queue necessary?
We have an increasing number of digital files to process and work with. Due to the popularity of "upload once, send to many" apps out there, these apps are really good at uploading and then processing files concurrently. What happens is that our servers will literally max out on CPU resources and this results in even more angst as your files are corrupted due to failed graceful processing.

Why is captcha necessary?
To allay the auto processing of the apps above. We will work to ensure that the apps will eventually be able to process your files automatically too but we're switching to a new system, so for the time being, do be patient with the system as we work to iron out the bugs.

What's are we working on actively?
Various items:
1. We are currently working to improve the system so that you receive a message on the ESTIMATED time before your files are available for MR attachments/describing/keywording. This is proving to be a challenge as we have to determine the existing queue length and then estimate the time you need for your own files to arrive at a logical estimated timeframe.

2. I do believe that the messaging for the various error detection are a bit vague as well. We are working to make sure that we will give you proper error reports in the future.

3. The system messaging must also be a lot more intuitive because a lot of contributors are so used to processing things in real time, we hope to change this with better messaging to you so that everyone understands that there IS A QUEUE, and you have to send the files in, and come back later to complete the steps.

What don't we recommend?
We advise against refreshing the page continuously as it will generate even more errors. We advise you to be patient, click once and let it take a short while as the system churns through the queue. We too are testing the system so that its robustness and responsiveness is up to par with your expectations as well as ours.

I also note that you might be worried if you missed out certain files due to this problem. We have begun to keep track of your original file names quite some time back. We can give you a CSV dump of all the files you have sent to us and you can identify which files are missing from your portfolio rather easily. Please email
[email protected] if you need your CSV file to conduct the reconciliation exercise.


Thank you for your understanding! Please give us a week to iron things out and get the system back on its feet again. We haven't restricted any uploading or processing.

Thanks for checking in. A few problems/questions.

The captcha page states that you won't have to reenter until you log out. This is not the case.

When you hit continue on the submit page, then you get the captcha page, then you go back to the submit page and hit continue again.

Your instructions don't really explain what happens after they go to the queue. I think I submitted a batch of files yesterday, but I don't really know as there is no real acknowledgement. Under Processing Queue there is nothing. Does this mean they are still somewhere else or did the upload fail?

As I mentioned in an earlier post, my decision in where to upload my images depends on the trouble vs worth equation and 123 just went from one of the easiest to one of the most tedious.

Edit: After checking my ftp software, it appears the images I thought I submitted yesterday are still on your ftp server. I have no way of knowing if this means the upload failed, they are in your queue, or what

so... instead of increasin your server or cpu performance you break your website, make the uploading proces more tedious, make your agency even less attractive for contributors. Just to battle  a few uploading apps. Over complicating things if you ask me.

Sorry Alex, but the only thing that eliminates the tedium of watching it stagnate at 20% forever is by clicking the refresh page once every 30 seconds or so....it'll jump to 40%. 60%. 80%. And finally 100%. Can you not look at DP and DTs system? Create a homepage as soon as you log in? With all the relevant information right there in front of the contributor. Does everything with 123RF have to have additional steps? Can you not see how awkward, cumbersome and sloppy your system is?

I still get nothing but the please wait button so no idea if anything is happening or not. Not going to tie up a browser for 3 hours like I did Friday. Nothing in processing queue. A boatload sitting on the ftp server.

Anyone tried to upload images to their EVO collection?

Uploaded images make it to the Processing Queue, but when I check back after several hours all the files are listed with a red error message "Failed to complete processing - Not valid image type". The only option then is to remove them. However, even the "remove" function is broken, because after I removed them and checked back again later all the files are still listed with the red error message. I tried both the web uploader and FTP - no difference.

123RF is now off my upload list until they can fix their website. >:(

Got hundreds to upload and can't do a dam thing like this so it looks like time to wait till the cows come home and maybe then it will be fixed or maybe we are going to have to wait till hail freezes over???????????????????

The web uploader doesn't appear to work. I uploaded several files and then it just looks like they have disappeared.

However, when I went into my FTP client and logged in to my uploads, the files I uploaded via the web uploader were there.

After going back to the upload page and the selecting "FTP settings / Check Upload FTP Results", I get a page that allows me to "process" the files that I uploaded via the web uploader.

This "upgrade" is flawed and much more time consuming than the previous uploader. Could have used a bit more beta testing before implementing this.

You're not wasting internet bandwidth while it's "spinning", nothing is being transferred at that point. Once it's uploaded just close the page and come back later.

What happened to 123rf?

- Revenue disappearing without showing any refunds (we are not talking just 1-2 dollars)
- Upload problems
- Live chat not working
- constant site errors

A large website like this needs a staging environment to test the site before applying the updates to the live website. This just frustrates people by introducing errors.

We have to play by the rules with keeping up quality. I would expect the same from the company representing my work.

Just my 2 cents. Back to work :)

I just gave their new upload a go. Using safari, I followed the steps and it did nothing. I mean nothing. After clicking the red process button it just NOTHING. Waited for hour or more. Tried multiple times.

Then opened firefox and did it - worked fine. All processed within about 5 mins.

Clearly it needs a lot more work to improve the system.

As we have seen over the last few months, Chrome is still rising in popularity over all of the other browsers. Chrome is the only browser that is gaining users while all the rest are declining, except Safari, IE7 and IE6, which are all holding steady with very low percentages.

I agree. Despite all the bad press, IE was able to hang on until sometime last year. Fact is, all browsers have pros and cons. I actually use IE, Chrome and FF depending on what I am doing.

Some tools at work only work properly on IE because they are written for IE, which is completely backwards these days as IE is no longer the most used browser. So we are stuck using IE, but anything running fine outside IE we use Firefox instead, and at home everything I do is on Chrome.

This spinning is just a waste of time and my internet service which is DATA limited so it just burns up DATA doing nothing that I pay for each month and 123's easy upload process was thrown out the window for what may even be more piss poor then what they have over on BS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I believe this is a server side process, since your files are already on their server, so don't worry you're not loosing any of your internet quota..

it worked for me, here's what I did, I uploaded my files using FTP client, used Firefox v21.0 to process the files, 5 images took almost 36 minutes.
I think the script is processing many images at once therefore returning false estimated time, give it another shot,

Seems some of my photos got through the spinning problem yesterday - but the titles are mangled beyond usefulness!
For example, for a particular kind of caterpillar, it now just says INSECT. For a deserted sandy beach it just says SAND. I cannot edit these titles but they will never help anybody find my photos. Clay pigeon shooting targets are similarly BREAK DISC.
Sigh...
I've sent an email to 123 but be warned...and do check!

I stand corrected. I'm amazed really. I thought the majority of people were still sitting at home on their 6 year old Dell PC running IE6 and not knowing any different.
I'm a mac user (iPhone, iPad, iMac, MacBookPro, i'd buy an Apple car if they made one), but I dislike Safari. I use Chrome. (despite my dislike for Google, I just like to use stuff that works)

back OT, I have, for the first time, experienced what everyone has been whinging about. A hung upload process. ah well, what can we do? go and upload elsewhere I guess.

Thank you for your patience. It's near Friday and I hope to report the progress on the upload system at 123RF.

As promised, we have included a time estimation when you queue files for processing with us.
We have really thrown the book at the system by queuing batches of 4000+ files from one portfolio into it and stress testing it out.
It seems to be able to queue files gracefully and display the correct error messages when it encounters any problems instead of stalling.

If you click on the "Processing Queue" tab, the reporting on the estimated time it takes to process your files seems to be correct now. And the proper errors are also being displayed here.

As for problems with keywords and descriptions, you may also opt to use the "Upload CSV" tool to help with the mapping:

Alternatively, you may click on the "Completed Images" tab to complete your description and keywording activities.

I have hundreds waiting to go but with this new system pfffffffttttt it is and has been a complete waste of my time.

Why did you go from the easiest uploading system around to something tedious and completely backwards? For countering uploaders? Who makes these decisions? Its completely backwards thinking.

Mine started last night at almost 400m.  And to make matters worse, when I checked in this morning, about a third reported as failed.  I miss the old implementation, the one that both worked and did so in a timely fashion.

Looks like it is still crap!

No uploads from me anymore till this joke of a system gets fix and works right!

123 has gone from the quickest easiest system there was for uploading to what we can now call the slowest and worst of them all.

I sold 16 photos on 123 today, 15 of my dad, including similars. I have no idea what happened, but it made me 4 dollar which really is no laughing matter either.
