I opted out of giving my work away at the beginning of August and just now checked my Account Settings-->Preferences. THESE CLOWNS OPTED MY PORTFOLIO BACK IN!

Just seen that sgoodwin4813 reported the same thing here:  https://www.microstockgroup.com/123royaltyfree-com/'exciting'-news-from-123rf/

Please check that they haven't done the same for you too!

FWIW ive emailed them asking to opt out (i didnt know anything about it until seeing threads here after the deadline).

So far 1 reply:

Kindly note that, ONLY content that has not received any downloads in the past 24 months (2 years) will be featured in the PLUS program.
It is more of an exposure for contents that you had uploaded 2 years and above, yet has not been downloaded before. Hence, by including these images under the PLUS program, previous submissions will get a chance to be bumped up and to be seen by end users.

Your content WILL STILL be available for licensing via Subscription and On-demand Download plans.

We would like to inform you that all contributors' portfolio are added in (opt in) by default.

Kindly let us know if you wish to Opt Out, kindly let us know, if you have
1. initially Opted In and wish to Opt out now, or
2. selected Opt Out from the beginning but still see the PLUS label on your contents.

I'll update this if/when they resolve it so people can see options.

123rf is ignoring the problem.
2 weeks ago i sent the first message and 123rf replied. My files be willl moved from "PLUS" to "PREMIUM".
So i dont give my images away to an unlimited downloads devil.
After 1 week i ask again, a friendly and short message.
Nothing happened.
I still see ALL my photos are downlaodable with the "exciting" PLUS subscription.
Anyone had success to get away from the PLUS-subscriptions?
A bit annoying.

It's about time for every contributor to understand that 123rf is not a reliable partner anymore.
They cut our royalties several times with false promises to increase sales significantly.
Started taking back money from our accounts for refunds on sales from 10 years ago. Took them two weeks to go from "everything is normal" to "oh it's a bug".
Now this desperate shenanigans with the free image collection trying to milk the last drops before they disappear from the market.
Everyone decides for themselves. I already deleted my portfolio and I'm feeling much better.

Same here.
One week ago, they said that my portfolio will go back to Premium and that it would take 24 to 48 hours but everything is still in Plus.
Send them a 2nd message 2 days ago, no answer yet.

I will wait until next week and I'll delete my portfolio.

Forgot to opt out initially. I tried to switch them back to Premium manually but nothing is happening.
Did anyone successfully switch back to Premium?
Could we do a class action against this exploitive company really?

A week on still no change from them.

Response to my initial mail (a propaganda piece saying how great it was and if i still want to opt out to reply) arrived within 24hrs of contacting them.

My follow up mail saying yes, opt me out still hasnt been replied to.

Looks like they're deliberately delaying or ignoring this.

You can do it manually 1 page at a time.
Which might or might not take many many hours.

Ive emailed them twice confirming my wish to opt out and received no response.

I seem to have problem with uploading photos to 123RF about 5-6 days. No photos appear on dashboard and no sales in a week. That has not happened for a long time. Has anyone have same problem?

Mine are still in premium only, but I noticed that new uploads were enabled for plus and premium. So i removed the plus option, now new uploads are only enabled for premium.

Only have 100 files there and never reached payout. Not sure about uploading now.

Also no new sales in more than a week, which never happened. This is until I clicked on "Earnings this month" and see there is now a new monthly/daily earnings page. I did indeed have sales the last week, but they are not reflected on the old Dashboard Overview. There is a new column "Download packs", but no indication of where the Plus sales will be reported. Not sure what that is? More concerning, I know I was very close to payout (something like $46), but now my earning summary reported only $23.06. This site is so broken.   :(

Same with me. I don't see any downloads for September. I can only see the downloads in the daily statistics.

The complete statistics does not work at all.

My dashboard shows me 2 downloads for the entire month of September.

Under "Details on earnings" I see 9 downloads for September 1 alone. Of these, however, 8 x $0.03??!!!

Or example September 2, 2022 - in one overview I get $1.33 displayed, in the other no downloads are displayed.

I really have the feeling that we are being cheated - and not for the first time!

In July I had already written to 123rf because the statistics were wrong. Only after my letter it was corrected.

this opt-out button ONLY affects future uploads. All images uploaded so far are opt-in. That's how it was for me and others. Without a support message, all your images remain in the unlimited download programme.

Theyve failed to respond to any of my 4 requests to opt out.

I have sent two letters to 123rf via the contact form.
The first letter was about the wrong download numbers and revenue in the contributor dashboard. The answer from 123 is:

"Dear Wilm,

Our IT team is aware of a bug with the Earnings Display on the front end. They are currently investigating the matter and are looking into resolving it. We apologize for the inconvenience caused.

Thank you for your patience and understanding in the meanwhile."

The second letter was about not offering any of my images at PLUS - not even the old images. I have not yet received an answer to this.

Same then.  I used the contact form and received a response the next day which was a copy/paste telling me how amazing Plus was and if i did want to opt out to reply.

I replied, no response.  Since then 2 emails and 2 contact forms asking the same with no response.

Does look like they dont want to do this.

I never received this mail.
I opted out of the PLUS plan in the preference settings last week but my images are still in the PLUS plan.
Now I see from reading the comments here that this is for future uploads.
I tried selecting a page of images and edited them by removing the Plus option but it didn't work.
I will write them but if they don't reply is there any other way to remove my images from this free plan.

If there isn't I will delete them.

I wrote to them last week and still nothing so I'm just deleting them. If it's of any use anyone, it takes approximately 5 1/2 minutes to delete a 1000 images. 10k in an hour... dull, yes, but worth it!

Edit... well, that's it for 123RF for me. All deleted now. I'll give it a month to monitor any activity and then close the account. This has been a long time coming.

What has surprised me over the years and now with recent issues at 123, why don't more people do what you've done. Obviously not worth the money, a place that has no respect for the artists, can't be trusted/missing reporting, slow reviews, yet people stay with them for what? $7 a month at best, according to the poll here.

Why do people intentionally support and feed the parasites?

For me I was being a little lazy. They only ever made me about $100 a month but dropped to $20. Basically 2hrs @ AS. So that new package reached a point where it was becoming damaging. They never had all my work and I'd stopped uploading a long time ago. There is possibly another 2 that could be culled. There are 4-5 I supply with 3 that get everything. For me, there is only one that seems to make an effort and consistently is increasing 10% reaching year.

That's the problem, not that I'm saying, never should have. 123RF was a reasonable place to make some money. So were some others until the last few years.

But times changed, they system is a mess, they are starting to pull tricks and are unreliable. More surprising is someone new coming here and reading all the threads about 123RF problems and then joining them.  :o

Yes I'm a quitter, but I did an agency purge years ago and dumped all the chumps.

To be fair, anyone who uses stock submitting software, it's not extra work to just click and make extra money. I don't do that, I won't pay for uploading and I won't spend the time to do that myself. Then there are issues with how I have images that can and can't go to one place or another. But if someone does that alternate plan, and uploads everything everywhere and take what comes, that's a good reason to keep the bottom feeders. The money adds up eventually.

So far ive sent 6 emails (to submissions@ and uk@) and received no response.
Ive just tried the contact form on the website and it fails with "The request could not be satisfied."

So my only option might be manually trying to delete near 1,500 pages of images manually one page at a time.  Not sure i have time for that this week - its hours and hours worth of clicking.

I only had 40 or so images to delete so was quick and easy.

But for those of you with big portfolios doing this or closing accounts, a big commendation to you for your efforts.

This is the type of contributor backlash that will greatly undermine or sink such agencies treating their suppliers in this hideous manner and serve as an example to other agencies.

Maybe we can try and comment on their social media pages to let the buyers know how they treat contributors. I don't see a better option, since they don't reply to messages and manually deleting (or changing the settings) does not work.

Second attempt! Since I did not receive a reply to my first letter, I am writing to you again to inform you that I do not wish to offer any of my images on PLUS. The prices or income at PLUS are a devaluation and disrespect of my work. I therefore ask you once again to immediately remove all my images from the PLUS offer.
If I do not receive an answer from you within the next few days and my images continue to be offered at PLUS, I will delete my complete portfolio at 123rf and close my account!

Anyway I went and checked my 40+ images I deleted and they have indeed gone. My tiny port wasn't a concern to 123rf. Maybe since then the agency has put blocks to stop contributors from deleting their works.

Deleted a couple of weeks ago, shortly after hearing about this new scheme. when I log in to my account, it shows and says no images uploaded. Unless their hiding somewhere else, it appears they've all been deleted.

My deleted images finally started disappearing from their site, it seems it takes a few days.

Same. The previews are still there but if I click on any of my images it says not available. Yay, finally!

In the meantime, the download numbers and revenues are displayed correctly in the dashboard again. However, the PLUS downloads are not counted.
Still 57 downloads - then I have reached the 10,000 there.

Some progress, got no responses to the emails or contact form i decided to put it in public on Twitter.  Received a response within hours.  Today ive received a mail saying its being moved off Plus.

So for those of you getting no joy at all from them, it seems the public shaming tactic works.

Those who have deleted all their images: Have you done some kind of exhaustive search to verify that your images do not appear in the results? The truth is that, lately, I don't trust any agency

I can still see my profile, and it says "oops, nothing to see here". Other than that, I did not check, partner sites (I don't know which are 123rf partners) probably will delete later. That's how it happened when I deleted from other sites.
You can also save some of your image ID's and search them after deleting.

I honestly don't understand how anyone can have their work on 123RF anymore. Sorry, but I don't think you can be helped.

Yes, I have work on 123RF. The platform is crappy and wobbly. But they pay me 0,216$ per subscription which still is 10-20 cents more than several other agencies.

We recently deployed an update where by all new uploads won't be tagged with the PLUS tab anymore. We hope this gives you assurance that your newer content isn't automatically opted into the PLUS program.

You should maybe have developed an update where old uploads won't be tagged with the PLUS tab by default instead, seeing as that's what people are complaining about here. Then you also would not have to waste recources un-tagging them after contributors' requests.

Please, I beg you, don't try to "better" our user experience before you have fixed the basics of your site. It has been broken and getting worse for years at this point. A lot of the content isn't even displaying at any given time.

Last night I've deleted my 7000+ photos on the site, I used a mouse autoclick application so it was painless, the impossibility to select more than 20 photos at a time is already a proof of disrespect for the contributor.
I made a useful gesture for myself because some years ago I gained around 120$/month on 123RF and now it's 120$/year. Giving the work of photographers who are the co-workers for free without any consentement is a totally lack of respect, everyone should quit these gangsters agencies.

They are trying to double talk out of a bad decision and they know it was a mony grab that backfired.

Yesterday I threatened one last time to delete my entire portfolio if all my files were not switched to PREMIUM by then. It helped - I no longer have any files that can be downloaded via PLUS.

I had a balance of about $20 which they would have taken from me when I requested to close the account.

When I replied to their request for reason for leaving and authorisation to remove my account, I gave one or two of many reasons but advised I do not authorise the removal of my account and that I want them to keep it open and hold my balance should I decide to return sometime in the future. Not that I will but at least that way they can't just pocket the money and instead, they'll have to keep accounting for it in their annual accounts / returns etc.

It worked for me. All my files can now only be downloaded as a premium licence. No more PLUS images.

I also exceeded the 10,000 downloads on 123rf today.
That's modest, but still contributes a percentage to my total sales. And that is more downloads than I have e.g. on dreamstime.

But never before have the revenues been worse than in 2022 on 123rf. It's getting less and less every year because the RPD and the downloads are going down the drain.

Usually they need months! But in the Last weeks they were very quick. A few days.

Thanks, the last batch i sent came back a few days later with a generic description/keyword error, so then I reuploaded it and changed the description on each and now its been pending for 2 weeks.

123RF support doesn't get back to me either.

Now they disabled image editing. Can't access my folio. Probably the best option is to delete account.

123RF still exist?

I try to upload new images, and I having a lot of problems. FTP not working: - I upload images but then I can't process the images.
By Website nothing happens. I try diferente browsers and computers and it's the same.

Nobody answer emails. I think there are no more humans working on 123rf...

Is something broken at 123rf again?
I haven't had a single sale since 11 November. I assume that the statistics are not working again.
Is anyone else affected besides me?

Thanks for the info, lenev.

I wrote to support yesterday - again. I did not receive an answer. But, as if by magic, a download came in again yesterday...

Sales are 79% less than 2016.  It's a steady path to nothing.

The same thing happens also to me... For several months now only one sale.... Very strange.
I'm trying to make that $50 and then close my account with them.

Most likely, the sales stats stalled again (perhaps selectively) at least since the beginning of November. As for December, just one sale reported so far.
