Well, I finally understand why my sales at 123RF have dropped by 2/3.  Just did several searches of my own portfolio for a variety of keywords and only a tiny fraction of available images showed up.

For example, I searched on the word "family" and a total of 36 images showed up.  The same search on my Dreamstime portfolio yields 702 images.  I have over 90% acceptance at both sites, so the portfolios are largely identical.

Where are my images and why aren't they showing in the searches?!!   >:(

And BTW, it isn't the new model release rule.  I already deleted the multiple releases and have attached the images to individual ones instead.

Did you try to contact them yet? Now I see what mean a low maintenance agency/website. This add to the no support at 123RF thread too.

Look like they left their website running and pay themselves good vacation. I don't see any workshop made by 123RF, neither any presence in the forums...

Me too Lisa.  (I've made more on Veer from small little sales than on 123 this month too, not good.)

Lisa, how do you search your own portfolio? I can't seem to find a place to input the member name in their advanced search. Thanks!

Lisa, how do you search your own portfolio? I can't seem to find a place to input the member name in their advanced search. Thanks!

Under the Sell Images tab, click on the "Portfolio" button.  When your portfolio is visible, on the right side, under the main search box, is another one that says "search ___'s portfolio".

@ Lorraine - thanks for posting.  So it's not just me then.  Wonder what's up?

@Vonkara - yeah, I thought about contacting support, after reading the thread about their customer support (and not being on facebook or twitter) I decided I'd be better off posting here.  Hopefully they actually do check these forums, as they said they would.

I will be dumping them in January. Just waiting out December as I have a lot of holiday images and have had good Decembers the past 3 years.

On email - yes I contacted them regarding one matter and never got an answer.

On searches, similar quirks as discussed above.

I have pursued some other photo avenues with good results, and so 123 is just not worth keeping around any longer.

They don't care. Their earnings page for me is f@cked up already 3 months. Their site must be in disarray and their reviews are a mess. I stopped uploading and if soon they don't get things straight, I'll quit there.
Edit: Just looked and I saw a bunch of sales of my last shoot. Turned out my collaborator back in Asia (that uploads my stuff) uploaded them without me knowing and they were all accepted. He told me I'm too grumpy and I should upload all everywhere.  ::) - oh well...

Yes, you are right, and even their search is not relevant. I searched my portfolio for "office" and unrelated images came up. I am positive that I have never used the keyword "office" for the images that showed up. They should do something about this problem.

Thanks Liza for pointing this out, I've always wondered why they sell much less than other agencies.

Yep, things are seriously broken.  I did a search in my port for "brunette" and got one match.  There should be three thousand.  So I fired off a message to Support; I'll wait patiently for their reply.

So then this is a sitewide problem.  Really very worrying.

Combine the (extremely!) broken search engine, lack of customer support, elimination of the forums, and it is starting to seem like a site going down in flames.

I have never been a member of a site as it was failing before (Lucky Oliver, Albumo, etc.).  Is this what it looks like?

Indeed, things are seriously broken.
Lisa, if you remember StockXpert had a lot of problems too before they were taken down. No views for new files, lack of sales, etc. So yea, it's possible that 123RF is going the same way too.
I recently had some problems with one of my batches having no thumbnails and therefore being impossible for me to attach MRs. Anglee told me they are looking into it and will let me know via email. Nothing happened, no email back whatsoever. I deleted the batch and reuploaded it.
Their support is a big fat zero, in my opinion. However, some sales do come almost daily.

Maybe somebody needs to go "Twitter" them. I know it won't be me and I doubt it'll be Lisa either. I'm not a member of Twitter and don't plan on being one. We shouldn't have to join the "house party" just to get in contact with them. They're suppose to be keeping an eye on this forum so we'll see what happens.

That explains a lot.  I was wondering why my sales had died this month.  I've just done a few searches that should show hundreds of results including mine and got none or only a few results each, none of which were mine.

My sales haven't changed much, I don't think they are doing that badly.  There are sites with hardly any sales that keep going and I don't think they would of spent money on the new look site if they planned to close it.  Look at the earnings poll results, they are in 5th place, above BigStock.  Perhaps someone will buy them?  Hopefully not Getty, as then they will be closed down :)

i searched for "woman, thai" and the search result showed 278 matches on the entire 123rf site. that's not really a lot  ::) and non of my own pics are shown in the search result although i must have approximately 500 pics including these keywords  :'(

and yes, my sales here are going down, down, down  :-[

Their search is totally messed up, partly. For the images I sold this month, all goes fine and I'm on the first page. For others, that never sold, I couldn't find them back at all. For instance: asian landscape (of which I have many) returns images of the Parthenon in Greece and NYC skylines and  views. I can imagine a buyer in a rush just giving up on them and try his luck elsewhere.

It all worked fine 2 years ago. Decent earnings too, given they are in the middle tier. Why the new management had to ruin it, including the reviews?

Thanks for the headsup! We've rectified the issue. You may check it now.

I checked it with a simple benchmark: asia landscape tropical. Quite straightforward, I guess. I want a landscape, in Asia, and in the tropics. The first page is still full of seascapes, beaches, cityskapes (Hong Kong). God forbid, there is that Athens Parthenon again, on the second place, from Fabrizio Chiruzzi. It's not a 123RF glitch, this guy is a fatal spammer. No wonder he turns up in 70 lightboxes.

Lisa, I don't know what I did differently, but when I search your portfolio on FAMILY, I get 607 hits, and BUSINESS gives 837 hits.
I just did it by typing FAMILY in "search Lisafx portfolio", nothing else.  In advanced settings, nothing is ticked, so my default settings don't filter anything.

Hi FD-Regular,

Thanks for bringing up this issue. We have a system to counter/automate this issue but it was overlooked because of they're "old accounts". Our keywording specialist is on top of this now. A warning letter will be issued for these spammers. And, of course, we'll be on continual lookout.

Many thanks,
Anglee

I wonder how long this has been broken for?  Because the last few months have been right crappy sales wise but in the 3 days 123 has sold significantly more for me than the rest of the month combined.  Would be nice if this was a sign of things to come, unfortunately I'm not that optimistic...

Thanks. It's in fact a great image, but it turns up in front of many searches. An experience like that can ruin a prospective buyer's experience. You might consider a flagging system like Dreamstime has. It works well there.

you know, i have a compulsion to check my stats whenever someone reports a sale somewhere. but as they say, "Generalissimo Francisco Franco is still dead." (at least for me, since july 1st - now that's a record at 123)

By the end of yesterday I sold more that day alone than at 123rf than the rest of August, also more than half of July.  But then maybe it was just a good day there (or maybe I have a front page image or something, can never be bothered checking that stuff out)

Anyways assuming there's something going on other than dumb luck thanks Anglee & co!
