My take on 123rf

Allen:
I know I am pretty new to this.  I'm the typical guy who loves to take pictures and have all his family say how good they are.  Over the course of a few months I have come to realize that they don't really know much about the technical aspects of photography.  They don't notice some of the harsh shadows or blown highlights.

As for 123rf, I have come to the conclusion that they must be cracking down on their acceptance criteria because I used to get EVERYTHING accepted, and I do mean everything. Some of my early stuff seems really horrible.

Anyways out of 156 photos this month I have 76 approved, 37 pending, and 43 rejected.  The rejection ratio is much higher than usual.

The recent rejections could be from taking pictures outside, instead of in my home studio where I have a little learned a little more control on taking pics.
I suppose everyone receives more rejections when leaving their comfort zone... but how else do you get better.

Do you receive more rejections when yuo change your shooting style?  What's your take on 123rf as far as recent rejections?

DanP68:
They have increased standards, which I am fine with.  Yes that means a few rejections per batch instead of a near 100% acceptance rate.  But the upside is a more professional collection.  It also means that people who get images accepted will have more exposure, due to many poor photos being rejected rather than muddying up the database.

The only thing I really want to see them do is raise prices more.  They have 1 increase coming at the beginning of May, but it still puts them among the cheapest microstock prices.  I'd like to see a second price increase in the Fall, after the first increase is fully digested.

Dreamframer:
Yes I have more rejections these days. It's ok

snurder:
On since end of March, I have 70 online with 2 rejections. I am impressed with their quick turnaround. I just submitted a small batch around midnite and already they are approved. I find their site a bit wonky though, but not horible.

Dreamframer:
:D I left my computer turned on during night to upload some images using ftp. And in the morning when I wanted to add model releases, I found all my images reviewed, and those with models were rejected because they didn't have a model release :D They become so so fast in reviewing. I am simply amazed
