What is the deal at 123 with the high rejection rate again...I slowed down uploading there because they were so far behind in reviews again. I had images waiting since 4/10 (almost a month). Although I only had 26 images waiting, they rejected 24 all for "Poor Lighting/Composition ". They were all accepted (except 2) at the top guns.

Funny thing is, 123 approved the 2 images the big guys rejected. I have to say I wasn't real crazy about them but submitted them anyway. I get a strong feeling they are trying to clear their pending queue....at what cost...

my images pending since the 23rd or so were reviewed today. Lots rejected for light/composition (something like 24 - 14), but I don't think any of the batches were 100% rejected as has happened in the past. I can't really predict what will get accepted or rejected there though.

i've had the same problem for months now -- i'd be more concerned if they were actually selling the ones that they did accept, so at this point i hardly care.  it's simple to upl, let them take what they want and i get a payout every copla months

Hi Anglee,

Since you're active on this forum I will ask you here - I got 5000th image approved some days ago. When will the rank change? (It's still at Veteran - 3001-5000 images). And second question - does this rank have any kind of importance regarding search placement or some other aspects?
Thanks for your time.

I have also recently noticed that my approval rate fell sharply, mainly due to poor lightning/composition... ???

Same here! I send them an email yesterday to find out if there was something wrong. Today I had my files reviewed and only 20% was approved. Lots of files were approved by others and rejected by 123RF for poor lightning/composition. They weren't that picky before so I don't know what's going on there. Maybe they forget that they need contributors to keep the business running?

I'm thinking they don't have time to fool with us.  It seems their concentration is now on marketing and advertising .... on Twitter and Facebook.   ::)

But ... I really should mention that I am pleased that I am getting some sales on 123RF.  Maybe the FREE advertising is working?
Or, did they have to pay for those iPads?   ???

With all fairness to 123rf and Anglee, the above mentioned images were re-evaluated. Roughtly 40% were changed to "Accepted" and an explanation that they are concerned of possible copyright issues...some of my images were of a commercial building without a property release. A step in the right direction....thanks 123...jp

I have a feeling that 123RF implemented some kind of software that reviews images automatically for lighting/contrast, and only then images go to reviewers. I really think so. Rejected images are often very good, and accepted on other sites, but 123RF rejects them. That became well known pattern at 123RF.
They were testing some "new review method" recently, just in time when high rejection rate started. So, I guess that "new review method" is some kind of software.
Maybe now 123RF wants high key images, like Crestock...who knows..

Their recent rejections are simply ridiculous. They reject the photos that istock sells in the first week online and accept some of the borderline ones. No wonder they can't grow. Are they saving storage space or targetting crestock's customer base ? :P
Poor lighting/compositon? C'mon 123, give me a break, come up with more relevant rejection reasons.

After I bought 5dII my acceptance rate at IS is going rapidly up, they reject hardly anything, at the same time 123 reject almost everything.
I am not going to deal with 123 for the time being. It's useless. Huge waste of time.

Hi Anglee,
This problem lasts for months already. We have thousands of rejected images for the same reason poor lighting/composition. It's not just Tom, it's bunch of unsatisfied people.
I submitted few batches for re-review, but the result was almost the same. So I gave up, and I don't resubmit anymore.

Just to add something.... I think everyone here knows I was always supporting 123rf. I always say 123RF is much better than Fotolia for me, which is true. Actually, I think I never, ever said one bad thing about 123RF. But lately I got pretty disappointed because of this issue. You can always say that 123RF now has higher standards than before, but the fact is: good images are being rejected. I don't know what's happening at 123RF, but obviously we here think some things should change...or maybe 123RF really wants to follow steps of Crestock.
If you implemented something...it's bad...really bad.
Nothing personal. I had to say this because I want things to be better, not because I want to rant.
Regards,
Ivan

Looks like Anglee is waiting for everybody here to cry "me too!"

I like 123. They are better for me than FT too. But with such rejection rate it does not worth to upload.

I look at sales and they are not worth keeping so I have deleted my portfolio there. I wish them success, they have always been honest.

Hello Anglee,

Thank you for your response.
Please don't take it personally but I don't think it is worthwile to send emails asking to reconsider because the situation will most likely repeat with the next batch.
I'd rather spend this time processing other images and send them to agencies that are glad to take them and to sell them.

I have always liked 123, despite the relatively slow sales and occasional glitches I found 123 a very decent and contributor-friendly agency.
I suggest that you post on your site current guidelines for contributors, so that we know what kind of images you wish to receive and so that we do not waste your time and ours in vain. If there any categories that are not interesting to you anymore, please let us know.

Kind regards,
Tom

That's one of the reasons, why i deleted all my images and only wait for a pay-out :(

I am afraid that it's indication that something bad is going to happen. They probably laid off reviewers to cut costs.

I've sent email, and received reply that "We had look into your account and reevaluate your images"

I cannot see any changes (though I could miss if they reverted only one) in batch that I asked to look at - looks like they agree with original evaluation. And  - 80% of a new batch rejected again.

It seems I am not good enough for 123. Sad.

In "Blink" Gladwell notes that contempt is the strongest signal of future divorce.

Noted, recorded.

This is ridiculous. I got the same email back with "Your images had been reevaluate." Nothing happened.
They rejected some files that are accepted at all major agencies. Some of them sold 6-7 times per day at SS for example.
Hey 123RF are you listening? Or are you on autopilot already?

There could be something going on there and I wouldn't be surprised that the funny april's fool joke would become true and these guys will be bought and then shutdown by some big fish.
