How many here have had good sales at 123RF.  I've been thinking of joining but the site doesn't give away too much in terms of downloads.  According to the Earnings Rating on the side of this page, it looks like it has potential but I've read mixed reviews about them.

Anyone here have any advice you can give me?

For me 123rf is hanging right around position 6-7 with my monthly earnings. If you have signed up already with Shutterstock, iStockphoto, Dreamstime, and Fotolia, then 123rf would be good for your second wave of signups with Big Stock and Can Stock Photo. If you like to take a look at some of my stats, then you can do this here http://stock.hlehnerer.com/Stats.html

123rf is accepting editorial too and has a minimum payout of $50. If you look at their long term traffic statistic, then you can see clearly an increase.

Never hat any problems with them.

There was a time that the site was responding slowly, but I guess they have update their servers and have now a new web design. Speed of the site is now excellent.

Interesting stats oboy, surprised to see istock all the way at the bottom and I'm not surprised that DT is down there too.  DT has dropped out for me which is why I'm looking at joining new agencies.  Might check out zazzle too.  Thanks for that.

Why don't you have a look to your left side? Microstock poll results!

Well, as I've mentioned in my opening post, the figures in the poll results on the right of the page look promising but I've been reading a lot of negative reviews in here and elsewhee about 123, about rejections, low sales and poor disclosure of downloads.  Looking at your poll result for this month is what made me ask the question.

I also don't know if I should trust your poll results.  How many people have voted?  Have the people that complained about low sales voted?  Have others left 123 and stopped voting?  I much prefer to get people's direct and current opinions.

123RF is my worst site although many talk about it being decent. I think it depends on the type of photography. I've been with them...over a year now and have never reached payout. I have over 200 photos on there and am sitting on $22.00 in earnings. I might reach payout by the year 2012. I quit uploading about 6 months ago.

iStock is in my statistic only so far down, because I am waaaaayyyyyy behind uploading my images their. I don't like their submitting process.

For 123rf, if you have mostly images that do not require to attach releases, then the submitting process via ftp is fast. You already have the images, so it only requires little time to submit them there too and you have a change of increasing your income. And in a few month you will know if you images sell there or not. At that time you can still stop uploading. 123rf is an established agency. Your changes of making some money there is better then with most new sites.

I'm satisfied.  Reached first payout in 3 months, mostly due to one $14 sale.  Otherwise, steady but not exciting.  I'm closing in on 400 images and expect quarterly payouts, maybe.   :-\

PS: about 60 editorial images uploaded but disappointing results.

I would say it's worth uploading there if you don't have very high expectations.  If you want a site where you can get a payout every month or two, with a couple thousand images, then it's worth it to upload there.

I am not ready to can them yet, but they are stuck at 2% of my microstock income and dropping.  Past couple of months they were behind Canstock, if that tells you anything.

Very steady - between 50-100$ per month with portfolio of 3000+.

For the last six months 75-100$

it's either feast or famine at 123 each month. not much in terms of downloads but when there is one, it could be an enhanced license for $21 or more or $5 for a extra large size. they may reject a lot of photos lately, but generally they'll also accept the ones that no one else wants. but, after almost a year, they still average out at around 8%.

I have tried once more and my last batch was almost 100% approved

But do you like this kind of unpredictability in reviews?

You're getting more cranky than me.  Is the summer heat getting to you?   ;D

No I don't, but 123RF have reviewed my other batches so I guess I'll keep up

What summer? Where I mostly am, at 8 degrees from the equator, the only variation is to see the sun go from the north to the south at noon. Feels like the 123 reviews.

the poll asks for slaes in $, so those with low sales are represented.  there are several other threads current about batch rejections.

but, as others have said, if you're on the majors, then 123 is an additional possibility with little work.

Not guilty. 123 have been consisent with my reviews, and I'll get 95% acceptance. Rejects will be for similar images...

I say upload in bulk as in get a large portfolio and have all your best pics faved - this seems to help.

Oldhand, - who more likely than not gets rejected in bulk as IS with his far from bulky 20 uploads a week.

For me 123 is twice better than BigStock.
