Title: Sighs of relief at 123 HQ
Post by: heywoody on July 06, 2013, 09:12
  ;D

DLs do seem to be increasing and earnings for June exceeded any month in 2012 without anything new added since October.  Guess I might as well start again

My sales are scraping along at roughly the same level as last year +/- 10%.

Not for me and I never stopped uploading  >:(

Maybe they gave your images a bonus in their search to lure you into uploading again  ;D

this month was pretty sad there. Any increase in sales are not making up for the decrease in percentage.

They're  just  about  to  pass  DT  as  my  no.1  agency.  I  have  a  small  port  and  few  sales  but  they  come  in   steady.

It seems to happen to you on sites where you are very successful. Makes one wonder if the agencies hide your port in the search because you take too much royalties.

123 never been a great earner for me, but this July is very surprising being already bme there....
I will never understand the level thing there...can anybody explain?

Friday  -  123RF  became  my  no.1  agency  surpass  DT  by  2 cent.  I'm  having  a  very  good  month  there.  Thanks  to  all  the  buyers.

I  don't  really  like  to  give  out  numbers.  But  since  the  first  of  the  year  my  sales  have  been  steady.  A  small  port  of  117  (working  on  that).  Usually  sell  more  month  after  month.
Mostly  subs  but  a   sale  is  a  sale.

It seems like a see-saw situation. When one half reports BME's the other half reports bad sales. For me so far second bad month in a row. Seems like the agency is not moving much income wise, it is just the distribution which differs every month.  :-\

Sales aren't good for me.  I hardly ever look there anymore.  When they cut commissions, I lost all enthusiasm for them.  Its a shame because they were my first microstock site and I used to quite like them but low sales volume and low commission is a killer.

my sales shift every other month with a factor ten.
Thats not reliable/ trustworthy.

So Im  in the process of slowly taking pictures down. Yesterday, 5-7 got erased. I have to time it so that I can easily delete the rest when I have my last payoput.

I lost all faith in them when they did their shift from 50% and down.

Had they not done that I would happily have supported them.

$186 May
$86 - June
$47 - so far in July

Swings and roundabouts - minimal effort to contribute so I let them get on with it.

July will be my 5 consecutive BME at 123RF.

All other sites have slowed down here in mid-summer, 123RF keeps on rocking.

it seems that some people are having success there, but I am not. In fact I am on track to be about where I was in 2008 with only 1/3 or less of my current port.

Certainly no where near the promised doubling of sales.

Do you ever wonder why you're getting negative points on your reply?   Such a bold statement for 117 images on 123RF.  I am close to almost 2,000 images and hold back my tongue since I feel I am still a major rookie compared to the majority of these folks especially a level 5 on 123RF.

Tip of the day- Spend more time in production and less time trying to analyze your portfolio- you will find it very rewarding... :-X

pretty dismal -- about 70-80% of what it was before they slashed prices -- lower prices, fewer sales.  getting down to the 'do not submit level'

symbiostock sales have beaten 123 sales for 2 months now

I think with Fotolia slashing their pricing, and 123 doing better and better, they are going to overtake Fotolia for second place. Albeit peanuts, its still a result... and the result is, that overall I am going down in earnings.

So............ soon I am only contributing to 2 agencies, SS and 123. And of course symbiostock.

If only DT and IS didnt have these stupid rules about everything, I could make another 100$ a month combined. But at this point 100$ is not enough to cover the headaches these two agencies gave me.

Hey I never said sales were good just that $ for a single month exceeded best pre-reduction month - still peanuts  :o

Tom - who are you quoting (maybe I'm going blind)?

Ron - commercially, refusing to upload to IS & DT while uploading to FT and 123 is nuts, IS no longer has any criteria and, for DT, just don't do a load of similars.

IS no longer has any criteria ....

Funny but many of my images are still being rejected because of those not existent criteria.  :o

If that is questioning the "doubling of sales" I don't remember who it was from 123RF said it when they introduced the RC system when they were trying to make it seem like a good thing for us to get paid less.

Think it was Alex, but I think he carefully omitted the period it might take to get there.

Curiously Dan says that 123 (117 images) has just surpassed DT (9 images mentioned in the DT thread) by 2c - says a lot about the relative earning potential of the 2 sites.

Says more to me about Dan's relative income announcements though.

I didnt mention FT at all. Why not submit to 123 when its easy and my earnings are up?

I have around 250 face images that DT considers to be similars. I refuse to make collages from those images. IS has a painfully time consuming upload process plus I dont have IS releases and they wont accept the 250 face images.
