Title: So... is 123RF still reviewing or did they close up shop?
Post by: click_click on March 04, 2012, 11:35
This is very annoying.

Download numbers are indicating a positive trend but if review times won't improve to an acceptable level (4 to 5 days max) they have to face the music eventually when buyers get their fresh stuff somewhere else.

By now I'm sure, buyers understand that the same non-exclusive content is available at many agencies and that some agencies grow a lot faster than 123RF. This is not very promising for the future unless there are plans let this ship sink?

I don't know if anyone agrees but since iStock set the bar really high in terms of screwing contributors it appears that other agencies are following in their footsteps to push funky business practices assuming we'll just put up with it.

While many of us will put up with it - that's not a secret - doesn't mean though that your business is invulnerable. If buyers leave, that's not the contributors' fault.

Communication has also always been key and only if people start getting very upset and voice their opinions, then most agencies re-act by trying to calm the folks down but it could be all a lot easier if certain agencies would practice a more proactive communication from their end in order to keep everyone in the loop.

Yeah, the reviewing process on 123rf takes like... forever!
4/5 weeks for my latest uploads

Only Veer is slower...

123RF's screwed us in the most disgusting, despicable, low possible way. That's why I really don't care about review time. I don't UL there anymore. I'm probably also pulling my port before the end of the year, when the cuts become effective. Their prices are so humiliatingly low, that even with 50% royalties you get 1,2$ for the largest sized JPG DL. Even if you're at 15% with IS you'd still get way over 5$ on average for an XXXL DL

They still outsells all the sites I contribute to and their rate per sale is on average still higher than all sites above them on the poll list for me, so I am going nowhere. Their review time is however a huge concern and has lately got totally out of control (and I am sure they know it), so I share your concerns with that!

My RPD is only lower at SS, which still is a sub based site (though the number of ODs is on the rise), but even SS can be higher some months that are full of ELs, SODs and ODs. IS, DT and FT are all above 123RF, on average RPD is double. Sales are still OK, but I hate them for the way they do business and their attitude is unbearable

Having 646 files waiting review on 123RF. Oldest files pending from 2012-02-07 . They are getting slower and slower.

In Mid February Alex said at the bottom of this thread here (http://www.microstockgroup.com/123royaltyfree-com/change-in-commission-structure-for-123rf-com-contributors/msg243281/) that they were expanding operations and in about two months the long wait times would be a thing of the past.  According to that we'll be facing long waits until April at best, and maybe beyond if they don't hit the target.

So while while many of us face a drop in commissions and are admonished to work harder and build up our portfolios to help hit the new RC targers we sit with files in limbo waiting to be approved during the first third of the year.  Discouraging to say the least.

123 was my 4th highest earner last year, but it's going to be a struggle to keep 40% next year and the delays in getting images on line sure don't help.

Hey All,

We're training a new batch of reviewers thus things will get smoother by then.

However, at this point of time, it'll still take appromately 2 weeks for us to get up to speed.

Thanks for your understanding and Please be patient with us.

Regards,
Anglee

Thank you Anglee and please take your time and train them well, because the next criticism from here will be about bad and irrational rejections if you don't.  ;D

In the mean time many of us are still enjoying your increased sales and I am sure, that although our review time is slower, your output to your customers is probably already double what it used to be with all the new contributors (so I am sure they are still happy).

As contributors we all will obviously like to see our work on display asap but, patience is a virtue and I am sure we all will reap the benefit if you complete this business growth process with the necessary calm and focus on quality!   ;)

By now we all know that he's a spin doctor, manipulating contributors, stacking one lie upon another, I don't believe a word that comes out of his mouth. Or anyone else's from 123RF for that matter, they're all just puppets, slaves of the company's owners anyway.

Just don't bother with them, don't risk your health over it, getting your nerves fried, an ulcer and blood pressure up. I've stopped right after that RC announcement after they broke their promise twice and Alex's little KKT inspired speech.

It's my 4th as well, above DT. But I don't care, I know it would become my 5th or 6th next year and even if it somehow stayed 4th (but that would mean one of the top 5 would have to go down), I'd makes me sick to my stomach to even think of ever again uploading there

and you will stay a small seller if improperly trained reviewers start rejecting most of your images for all sorts of silly reasons as we are experiencing with quite a lot of sites. Patience my son and good things might come to you......  ;D

or... you stay a small seller if 123RF keeps reviewing batches every 6 weeks.

I would be pretty disillusioned as a newbie starting my portfolio there as it literally would take years to build a substantial portfolio.

They did say they are working on it and are busy training new staff, so nobody is going to wait years. Let us try and keep the emotional outburst to those members who are renowned for it... ;)

Yesterday I've sent Editorial stuff directly ( ftp ) and "almost" all reviewed. At least, concerning Editorial, it's being reviewed fast enough.
