Title: What's the deal with 123?
Post by: Pixart on August 15, 2007, 01:09
Just asking so that I can alter my uploading process to 123 if others have noticed... I've barely tried to upload anything to 123, but what is the deal with their love of rejecting similar images?   My rejections there have been mainly for this "similar" reason.

I mean, sure, these two are similar - but are they that  similar?  Same model but sitting on a bench in the rejected one... And I didn't think cap and gowns are an overpopulated subject.

I know, I know... don't ask...  I rarely question rejections any more... maybe similar is their way of kindly saying they just don't like the like the business of the background.

They are both on SS so that is what really matters - and too early to tell about elsewhere

Ugh, there is something about it with 123RF...  look through their forum, you'll see a number of similar (pun intended) requests.  It was said that it was some kind of bug (can't really imagine that but whatever). They are however willing to deal with it without much fuss if you ask in the forum. I had rejection of isolated parrot

was accepted. Asked on the forum whether it was really similar, and image returned to portfolio in a day or so. Encountered several cases like this couple times since but didn't really bother

I have had similar problems :)  I can understand rejections when the photos are very similar but surely the designers like to see more than one view of a subject and can then decide which one suits their needs best.  I hope they adjust their policy, as this could lead to a lot of lost sales.

I have had the same problem a few times on other sites, so now I make sure that the different views of the same subject are uploaded at different times.  That gets them approved.

Yep they do that but never had issues on re-submit
