Thus far this site has been noting but a bug to me, nothing has worked.

When I initially signed up they send your initial password to your email.  that never happened, I tried over, and over, and over, checked every folder and filter setting in my email...nothing.  Finally after a month and dozens of attempts I contacted support, and a few days later I finally got an email from them, and not so kindly they said to check your filters and junk folder.  But it also had a password (that came right to my inbox, not in any junk folder), so I could finally actually get in to my account.

Next up, upload ID.  Used the same photo as for other sites (straight on shot of my DL).  Seemingly no problems.

Then upload at least 10.  Well I didn't have a ton of time when I was uploading so I just picked 10 of my most universally accepted, hottest sellers, and tried to upload them.  First try, failed, problem with the upload.  Tried again, it worked.

Now after a week of waiting for them to review them, I get an email telling me that they won't review them until I upload an ID????  I did this, and on the sidebar it says that my ID is uploaded.

So I try to REPLY to their email (via their own internal email) (by hitting the convenient REPLY button), type up that I have uploaded my ID, go to send, and get an error that there is no recipient. ????  So I check the box of contacts and there are no contacts, support is not there.  One would assume that the recipient would be transferred with the reply button, but that is much to easy.

So I go to the forum over there as that is the only way to maybe get a hold of anybody (barring giving support a call and waiting on hold for a week or two), and whallah, try to reply to any thread and I get pure white space, no forum typing for me.

Seriously, is this site really this bad and buggy?  Now I have no idea what to do, no address to send a reply to, and nobody will review my photos until I send that reply.

I have almost finished uploading to StockXpert, so I am thinking about trying on 123rf, so any information you ask, is good for me too.

Is it worth to try ar 123rf? Can you earn at least 50$ with 2500 images portfolio?

StockXpert proved to be worth the effort, but what about 123rf?

I had a lot of trouble when I first signed up with them too, but once straightened out it is a very easy site to work with.

$ are not marvelous, but yes Chode - I think worth the effort.  I sell more individual photos on 123 than StockXpert, and about equal # to FT = but less $ per sale due to their subs.

it is 3-4 times less with the same portfolio  than FT, IS or DT

I found the address for the owner? I believe while reading in the forum (Alex)...a start, at least I have an address of somebody that works there, so I sent my reply to him.  Lets see how long it takes to hear something back.

123rf is easy to upload to but I make much more with BigStock and FT.  Still worth uploading there though and they show signs of improving.

Trebuchet, I am sorry, but I am already registered at 123rf (almost a year ago) but never uploaded anything, otherwise I would gladly be you affiliate, but you are a "little" to late. hehe.

Hm... I am very suspicious about 123rf, but I will give it a try when I finish uploading my portfolio at StockXpert (7 more days - 350 images left :)).

When comparing sites, Fotolia has always been my best earner, followed by SS. They are like 60-40 (FT-SS).

Than fllows dreamstime which gives me about 4 times less money, but I am happy with them, it is not small amount, just relative speaking to Fotolia. Than it is StockXpert which is half good as Dreamtime in earning, but still I earn a payment+ per month :)

So, if 123rf could give me at least 50$ per month, it is worth, definitely.

When I finish with 123rf, I'll think about Bigstock, but I thnk it is not worth trying at BigStock... hhhh

 ::) What a pitty

Perhaps you already know that there is a "Faved" section where you can choose a 5% of your images as your favourite.
Dont leave this. Is important to get a good position.

I think it also "drag" similar no faved images in your portfolio to good position.
I made a search and 2 of my images where in the first page. One was faved and the other was "not faved" and recently uploaded

Tnx for the tips. I'll look into next week when I finish uploading to StockXpert.

One question: do they accept MR from fotolia?

p.s.

I heard there are no categories at 123? Is it true? All I got to do is upload my files using FTP (with keywords in ITCP data) and click PROCESS and thats all I have to do?

Is easy but not so easy  :)

You only have to select if the image needs property release or model release

emmmmmmmhhhh I think I ve missed something.
Sorry but my english is far for being perfect.

Let me explain.
You have an image with ITCP data added. Name, description, keywords... ( you cant add categories in this step, can you???)
Then you upload to 123. Click process.
Then it appear a list with your images.
Each image has a space for name or description (nor sure) and keywords. It recognices your ITCP data.
Also there is a place where aske you if your image needs model or property release.
Thats all.

I could explain it better but only if you speak spanish  ;D

If anyone can give a better explanation.. help me.

This is true, there are no categories at 123RF. You just have to upload and add any relevant releases (model or property) and then submit. They read the IPTC data automatically.

For the record, Bigstock is a better earner than 123RF. Well it is for me, but then Bigstock is a better earner than Stockxpert for me so I guess I'm not typical. 123Rf will definitely give you more success than Lucky Oliver, Canstock and Crestock though.

If you have a portfolio with thousands of images then 123RF AND Bigstock are a must.

U don't have to choose model release or property release!

Just FTP, if have IPTC, it will be extracted, after that, just review and save changes. Wait for the admin to review. It's fast efficient, no categories (I think they use keywords).  If you have model release, they accept any MR. Just go and attach quickly before they review!

Last time they have submission guides. i think still can access but hidden www.123rf.com/masterit

When U process Ur uploaded file, use FireFox . U can see the progress. Might take a while but at least U know it's working. IE, cannot see :(

Good luck, 123 is my fav site, cause I get some download there. Other site always reject me!!! :(

Yep...Alex is the guy you need to e-mail.  He's pretty quick at responding, and always very helpful.  Nice guy.
