I'm one of those dummies who now has everything on micro AND on Alamy.   At first I never believed I'd sell anything at Alamy, but actually I've sold enough that I'm fairly encouraged and thinking seriously about taking everything off of the micros and just doing Alamy.

We have no way of knowing how many Alamy buyers might also search the micros to see if they can get the same image for $1.   But it has to be happening.

Unless you have something very unique I don't think it will be a good idea. I personally think that submitting images to every single CrapStock is a bad idea, but pulling out of the Big 4 might just mean that someone else will get the sales.

I tend to agree with her majesty (;) ).  Alamy sells pretty well for me, but they are never more than 5-7% of my total sales.  If I were to pull out of the micros, that might go up at Alamy due to a few people buying there who might otherwise have purchased cheaper at the micros.  But even if my sales doubled at Alamy, that would still leave me losing out on 85-90% of earnings.

That's as good an argment for not bothering as I'm likely to get  ;D

Another agree with the others who say, don't do it. Different buyers, different market. True some may search Micro for same images, but you will lose 100% of the Micro sales from people who don't ever look at Alamy for anything.

That and pointed out before, you already took the time and effort to upload to SS, why not just collect the rewards and money. If you think you are competing with yourself, don't upload anything new to Micro, just collect payments.  :D
