Title: Alamy all my sales are from partners in january (30% royalties), strange...
Post by: palagarde on February 01, 2020, 05:10
It looks like all my sales on Alamy this month are from partners (only 30% of royalties, 12 sales some small, few big). It's strange...
Do you have the same report?
Thank you.

No but then I removed my Alamy photos from distributor sales back in April 2019.

You can do the same in April 2020

I also opted-out in April 2019 and still get distributor sales in January 2020.
Three actually and my only sales so far this year.
They said they were still available in distribution at the time they were licensed.

No, only 6 sales but none of them distributor.

52 sales in the past year. Only 5 were Distributor. One of those Distro sales was for nearly pennies. A couple others were big enough to keep me in the game.

ok thank you for your feedback.
I'm getting oversuspicious with all the tricks of stock agencies to reduce our royalties.

Yes I had some of those supposedly a bulk deal from China I wrote to Alamy and they said it was a long developing project or some such.

I am pissed off they let customers use our product without recompense until months later

I had 6 sales reported on Alamy in Jan.
1 was an affiliate sale (whatever that is) - Alamy took 52.2 % and the affiliate took 13% I got ~34.8%

2 were distributor sales (30% for me)

3 were standard Alamy sales for which I used to get 50% but now get 40%

All of the sales but one Alamy sale I would consider microstock sales (a few were decent microstock sales, but not great).

My lowest take was 1.15 on one of the distributor sales

1 was an affiliate sale (whatever that is) -
It's what other sites call Partners, meaning they somehow link to Alamy images and if someone follows a link from their site and buys on Alamy they get a cut.

Thanks, I guess the referring site gets 10% and Rakuten gets 3% - seems like a pretty good rakut for them.

I still think that this should come out of Alamy's 60% since it is someone else doing the marketing for them, but nobody is asking me.

I agree totally. BTW, don't know where the -1 came from. Apparently you were at -2 before I plussed you. Who on earth other than Alamy could disagree with what you said? But I didn't think we could minus any more, and I don't see any disagree button. Weird.  ::)

Hello
exactly the same for me, 3 sales in January and all come from partners.  how to remove this possibility.  this accounting annoys me to the maximum.  one of the three images appeared in a travel brochure in Germany, signed by Alamy.com.  thank you for your advice which will be welcome.
Have à Nice day  :)

My Dashboard > Additional Revenue Options > Distribution > Out
(NB, you can only opt out in April)
Note that only means you are opted out of distribution, not that you will get the sales at a higher percentage. You'll probably just lose the sales, which may indeed be your choice if rpd is more important than overall earnings.

(Added: that's for distibutors, i.e. other agencies. I don't think (?) you can opt out of affiliates)

I just have this email : Hi Contributors,

Today PA Media Group, the UK-based news and information business, has announced the acquisition of Alamy. You can view the press release here.

Together with PA Images’ live news, sport and entertainment photography service this acquisition will allow the two businesses to fully capitalise on the huge demand for both stock and news imagery from customers around the world.
