We need images quickly. Images taken yesterday (10th) are already too old for Live News. Please ensure News uploads are sent over quickly (ideally within an hour of being taken) to maximise sales potential.

24 hours has no value anymore.

Update from Alamy: they keep 24 hours rule, but prefer to receive 1 hour fresh.
Good. Not all events have conditions for rapid send.

clarify please!
are they referring to editorials?
which is true, but Alamy has also to follow up with a sale if they want us to give them
editorials within a couple of hours.
i always do send the editorials from the site, many times within the moment right after the event
as i go to the Press Room of the event to upload them from the computers they supply to us.

but as i said before, Alamy has never sold anything, editorial or commercial from day of inception
of Alamy.

i know they want us to give them the works to compete with Getty or SS
but these 2 sells for their contributors...

alamy has yet to prove they can do the same ,... 46% vs 102% is not going to make me
rush for them

Yes, editorial. There was a short communication with support, they sent that message.
I prefer to send with a normal computer, but did an attempt to send from place 2 days ago. When you are in a crowd under direct sun it is very difficult to see something on the screen and type. From such events i send when i have suitable location. No way to search for a press room in such situation. Too much time to loose, too far. And event is always in progress, during day.
Anyway they explained what they prefer,  they want now to be more close to live reportage. Images which they still allow to go through news channel, can be moved to stock, what means delay for several days till they appear.
Many things depend from type of event, so definetely where sending is more difficult, you loose possibility to send as a news.
They answered, that 24 hours rule is still valid, but they prefer 1 hour delay for news.
Sending when abroad - very questionable if press room is not available. Costs of roaming don't encourage me to send.

Times have changed. Even local newspapers have pictures online within an hour. The way it works, at least in the newspaper I work for - WiFi connection between my Canon or Nikon with smartphone, pictures are at the desk even during the event.
But etudiante rapide is right, what for? There is no money at Alamy.

For some cases solution with wifi will work, but for such type of uploads like for agency, at least for me payments for roaming are not something what i will do. I will submit later, so it will not be hot news. If work for hire then no problem, included in expenses.
Anyway it is interesting how you can handle situation when you are pressed by other people in a crowd, direct sun reflects from the screen, and you cannot leave your place hours? May be kind of extrim situation, i know not all events are like that :-)

I guess those images that you cannot upload to live news can always go on to stock.

thanks.
if alamy can prove to me they sell my stuff as quickly as ss did in the past years,
until last few months,
i will move quickly to alamy.

except as i mentioned before, i was with alamy from day 1 of their inception
and in spite of almost always 100% approval,
for 5 years, i see zero views to my port.

objectively, with getty and ss , looking like aiming for a tail-spin
alamy is in a good position to capitalize on this
...
show us you can deliver, and i will move quick
back to alamy.

thank you very much ,Ariene,
it is not often someone will come in so promptly with such clarity.

as i said before, let Alamy prove they can deliver... across the board like ss
..iow, not just an handful elites... but almost everyone/anyone makes some money at ss
..
do that at alamy, and i will be the first one back ..
with 3k new images ... i just finished for ss
