been with alamy since 12/5/12. Just wanted to know where i can find my alamy rank?
Thanks

You can't really.
There's the 'BHZ game' whereby you put BHZ on ONE of your files and see where it shows up, and whether it goes up or down with an AR change, but of couse, only a small proportion of Alamy sellers do the BHZ thing.
You can get an estimate of what your rank is by where your photos show on 'relevance' searches.

With wrist surgery i've only een able to put up 20 images. Mow the real work begins.
-
How to join the BHZ game - ONE PHOTO ONLY!
1) RM photo (not RF!)
2) Edit the keywords and add BHZ in the Essential Keywords box (no others)
Locate your image, page number and placement, make a note. Might take awhile to show in the search as Alamy has to run a database sort.
3) Wait up to 90 days for the database to update and
4) Find your photo again
Just as James says, it's a game. It's only going to tell you in relation to others playing the game. Some people have multiple images, some have added RF, some game the game and put BHZ in a different field. It's all relative and for amusement purposes only. :)
(maybe this should become a sticky since it gets asked over and over and the details are important to any potential value is looking at your rank. Remember some people don't understand and put more than one image, put the BHZ in the wrong field, and the game can be gamed. Since the image doesn't matter and it's showing your personal rank, pick something that's easy to spot and stands out. It makes finding yourself, much easier! I picked a bright blue race car on a white background.)
Also personal test I placed one image for two different pseudonyms. One with no sales one with all my editorial sales. They appear in the BHZ game, next to each other. The rank is for the person, not the pseudo as far as I can see?

Now, that's REALLY interesting, as the common 'wisdom' on the forums is that the pseudos are ranked independently, so the pseudo system is a way to bizarrely 'evade' the rather doubtful strategy of ranking contributors rather than relevance of images.
That said, 'relevance' does seem to be improving in my few and unrepresentative regular searches.

To get some sort of data you can go to 'My images' and compare your CTR to the average CTR. Even that doesn't really mean a lot though.

Nope, at the beginning my CTR varied, but was usually about 2X Alamy's, but I had no sales for eight months. My CTR is now under Alamy's average.
The one I can't get over is search where I had the ONLY relevant files for a particular search of a specific obscure event. 9 were zoomed and none sold (yet? ;)) I wish I knew what they wanted; I took loads of pics of the event and probably have what they're looking for.
Or maybe they did use one but haven't notified it yet - @OP another little joy of Alamy is that sales can take many months to be notified to Alamy, and months more if via a distributor.

Oh yes! We're still waiting for a sale to be notified for a DPS in 'Britain' magazine for Sep/Oct 2012. Member Services have been nudged a couple of times.

I notified Member Services of an in-use I found that I assumed had been stolen from Alamy (it seems to match the size of the watermarked popup, but with the watermark removed).
Today I was informed that it was a distributor sale, and would be included in my sales total by the end of next month.
The website date shows that the article & image were put up almost exactly two years ago!

Just Me, I expect that people might try the same and see what happens with their pseudos? I have two with RM files. They show side by side in the BHZ search. If someone else finds different, I wouldn't disagree.
Let me restate my position. I don't care about my Alamy rank, views, or any of this watching and ranking. I only care about sales. All this worry about how many times someone may view an image, because of a mistaken search term, or CTR is an irrelevant waste of time. Rank doesn't mean that much!
If you want to see where you are on a particular search, go enter your ESSENTIAL keywords and see what page you are on. When I find I have up to six on the first page of some of my targeted search terms, I'm pleased that buyers are seeing my images.
Don't forget the positive search efforts of Alamy which try to create diversity. (positive for contributors and buyers) They don't just put the first person with the highest rank, all their images first and lower people after that. They attempt to mix the results so everyone gets a place towards the front.

The pseudonyms are ranked, not the person. I can say that 100% officially. If you have images under different pseudonyms appearing next to each other then it will likely mean that you have not enough customer data associated with either pseudonym to give a rank other than the median.

Perfect answer. That explains it. Thanks!
