Alamy has recently sent out a message, recommending the hosting service of Photoshelter. Looks like a good deal, for it only charges $40 per year for the first year if we sign up before July 15.
I am debating whether or not I should take the offer. Can anyone share the experience? Thanks.

A word of caution I read it as $40 off, not $40 total.
Until July 15th 2009, PhotoShelter is offering Alamy contributors a special discount. Receive $40 per year off an Annual PhotoShelter Standard Account (normally $329).

You are right, I wasn't paying much attention. Glad I didn't take the offer. Thanks.

Its funny, when Photoshelter closed down, they recommended that their members should upload their photos to Alamy, and now Alamy is recommending to use Photoshelter as a hosting site...does anyone knows if the two sites are link in any way? ???...just curious.

If they aren't connected, they should be. I like Alamy, and I liked the PS free site before they died a horrible death. It would be a good combo. Although for me neither has much sales.

I never got into uploading to Alamy, even though I've heard some good things about the site (but not the sales), but Photoshelter (rest in peace) made me some good money back when...oh well, the good old times! ;D

I use the PS personal archive... $9.99 per month saves me having to upload my photos to 5 different sites individually on slow connection when I travel... you can FTP from there to several other sites simultaneously. Very handy!
