What is the size requirement for a JPG illustration?

Just realized that I have some that I downsized for Micro, and they might be large enough for Alamy?

I've never put any illustrations up on Alamy, anyone who does illustrations, have any sales or in your opinion, is this a waste of time?

I use 426x303mm or 350x350mm and it covers all of the agencies that I submit to including Alamy, when rasterized. As for sales...sporadic, I get sales every month but it varies wildly from month to month. I guess what I am saying is suck it and see, Their upload system is quite straight forward but their approval system can be a little time consuming. I wouldn't upload your portfolio all in one go but maybe drip feed it to see if you get sales and its worth your time.

Thanks, I have a bunch of photos, mostly RM and a smattering of RF fun things, but I wasn't sure what to do about size for the illustration images. That helped.

What does 350mm x 350mm translate to in pixels? I usually look at uploads in pixels, not print sizes? Also for Alamy they look at file size, not dimensions, even though there's a proportional relationship. Are you saying 300 dpi 350 x 350mm?

Yes everything at 300dpi with the sizes I mentioned above. I know they go on files sizes but I have never had an issue when uploading the JPEG files of my illustrations at these resolutions.

I had as small as 2400x2400 pixels approved.. didn't try anything smaller..

Same here, sporadic, it is the only site where I am not surprised if I make $0 or $500 in a month.

Yes, no kidding for photos. The ones I thought would sell, don't? And some that I just threw in for filler, have sold. I don't complain when the check comes. But then for a few months everything is zero's. I suspect that's why some people give up. It's not like a steady flow of quarters, which show something happening. But then when a gift falls from the sky, on Alamy, it's really nice.

Just to update, I uploaded a couple to see what would happen. It still looks at the file size, same as a photo.

Uncompressed size must be greater than 24MB

That will end the specific Q&A for this topic.

This took me awhile to figure out. Regardless of artboard dimension you go and export for web and devices. In the dialog box I set the dimensions to just under 25 mp and check the clip to artboard box. I save it once it's done processing and have had no upload problems there doing it that way.

Right! (what's an art board?)

Mine start as JPGS and end as the same, I'm not doing the real thing like you real artist folks.

But that was the answer, same requirements as photos. Which is much easier to understand for me than pixels and millimeters.

Uncompressed file size 24MB (not mp)
