Title: ALAMY - Relevance makes no sense
Post by: langstrup on October 15, 2015, 06:29
A lot of my images shows up on the first couple of pages on Alamy when searching for specific keyword " Entrepreneur" I have 5 images on the first "Relevant"-page and a couple on the first "creative"-page.

What I dont understand is, that I dont see any sales on Alamy? Alamy told me that the "relevant"-page is based on sales / views.

Any thoughts?

At the bottom of your Alamy "My Alamy" page is a collapsible section of Alamy Measures. I believe Alamy Measures is the method that Alamy uses to sort the relevant results. I don't know how sales weigh into the formula that also includes the "Click Through Rate". In that section, if you click on "Your Images" the resulting page has definitions along the right edge.

I have a lot of editorial in my portfolio and certainly do not see high numbers of sales. The click through rate is more relevant than sales if i don't have many.

Just started on Alamy with 70 editorial images. What would be a good CTR?

I wouldn't worry about it.  I've never noticed any kind of correlation between CTR and sales - I've had sales when my CTR was very low and none when it was higher.  No sense worrying about something you can't change.
