As much as it pains me

Distribution: yes (30% is aligned with micro stock and when I get a 100 sale on an MS image, $30 isn't bad compared to $2.85 at SS)
Novel use:  No (I don't trust what this is)
UK Newspaper scheme: Yes

Archival / Reportage: never applied
Video upload: never applied but hear that they say no to just about everyone and require a minimum number of clips. I think 300 or 500.

I opted out of distribution sales - I think it's a broken and outdated business model that gives a reseller a larger percentage than either the agency or the creator of the work. Supporting the distributors in any way seems like it's working against my own long term interests.

Just to clarify - video acceptance rate is currently about 50% and minimum number of clips needed is 250.

Thought they were dropping novel use so didn't bother to opt out this year.

For most licenses distributor sales are still a better return than the micros, so in.

Thought about opting out of the UK newspaper scheme, so they'd have to pay more for my work but was concerned they'd pick other images instead so stayed in.

I've been in reportage since it started and since I have a lot of illustrative editorial work in my portfolio it works for me. I had to set up two accounts when it started but now have been able to combine them into one.

Haven't tried video yet. I've shot a few but nowhere near enough for the minimum.

Distribution: yes, though I feel it shouldn't be necessary in most regions.
Novel use: no, apparently (hearsay) iS ban it for exclusives.
UK Newspaper scheme: yes; payments can be much lower than iStock credit sales for exclusives, but they say they don't see your pics if not in the scheme. Also as I'm RM there, I have had repeat sales of files through the scheme. I was out for a while, then got an even lower value sale as a 'normal' sale, so came back in.
Reportage: Yes, haven't sold anything directly and it's a real hassle getting back here and uploaded in a short timeframe, but things have sold afterwards. Probably wouldn't bother doing the reportage thing again. Also the reportage upload thing was extremely shaky (might be fixed by now).
Video: n/a
Still, RPD dropping rapidly at Alamy, with no uptick in sales.

So what ...

Surprised to hear you didn't hear back from us - did you fill out an official application or was it via email? Either way you should've got a reply.

Without knowing your name we can't investigate but if you want to PM us the details we'd be happy to look into it for you.
