Title: anyone selling video through A?
Post by: noodle on May 19, 2013, 16:04
Is it worthwhile to upload video to sell through Alamy?

What would you say both about the process of uploading and about sales

thx

We'll I've had a couple thousand clips up since video went live on Alamy and I've had just one sale.  It was for less than the lowest amount listed in their online calculator.  Keep hoping things might change for the better.

They didn't want my portfolio but now I'm not sure I will bother with them.  Can't believe how long its taken them to open up video for everyone.  Their USP is a huge collection that other sites don't have.  For video, they have a relatively small collection that must be a waste of time for buyers.

Has anything changed since? I got an invite from alamy to contribute my video portfolio to them, but as I would need to mail in my hard drive, I'm wondering if it's worth it. I barely sell any photos there, so if the situation with video is even worse, I might not bother. :)

Bump.  Curious to know if anyone is getting any traction with Alamy on video?

I'm interested too... although I don't have 250 clips in my portfolio, but I'm working on it.

So, what is the situation with videos today?
Are sales growing?
