I finally sold my first licensed image at Alamy.  I have lots of Royalty free images there and have sold a number of them, but this was the first licensed sale :) exciting to see since sales have been stagnant for a while for me.

Hey, Tyler.  Congrats on the sale.  I have a question for you:  Does Alamy send email notifications of sales?  I've passed QC and I'm starting to send more images.  I couldn't figure out if they notified contributors, or if I had to check periodically.

No e-mail or notice is sent.  You have to check online to find out.

Congratulations! It's a great feeling when you sell a licensed one, isn't it.

I've sold a few licensed ones with them but, funnily enough, my biggest single fee with them so far has been for an RF

Leaf, how long did it take for your application to go through and get approved?  I sent in my 10 image CD so I could sell RM - that was on September 29.  Still waiting patiently.

Congrats on the first sale!

Alamy is not a fast moving company.  They take things nice and slow.  I think they have lately been under the gun and that is why they have been attempting to implement an upload process and redefining their approval methods.  But once again they have been extremely slow to get it started.  It took about 6 weeks to get my first approval but I wouldn't be surprised if it takes even longer.  It varies a lot.

Thanks Mark - my reason for signing up with Alamy was to make it a "repository" for my images.  The stuff I'm currently selling under RM licensing has an exclusivity agreement for a certain period of time.  Once the images become non-exclusive, my thoughts are I'd deposit them in the "Image Bank" for years to come.  Alamy seemed to be the logical place.  I'll keep waiting patiently!

My last few submissions to Alamy have all taken about a month to make it through the inspection process.

And, after a year with them, I'm going to get my first payout tomorrow. They also have a system where payments for images have to be 'cleared' before they can be released to you. I'm still waiting for some July payments to be 'cleared'.   :o

You've got to have patience with Alamy!

yeah don't be surprised if you have to wait a month or two for your approval.

Congratulations, Leaf!  That's great news.  Now the question is, have you cleaned out your garage yet :)

remember after upsizing you can now submit them as JPEGs setting 12 (just make sure your chosen pixel dimensions will give you a 48 meg uncompressed TIFF or bigger). I managed 489 on one DVD all accepted after about 5 weeks wait now I just to have keyword them (thank God that bears more resemblance to SS than iS)
