Title: First RF sale on Alamy
Post by: roman on June 19, 2007, 15:25
I know that many people here submit stuff on alamy on RM basis.  I had a batch of images there that I have decided to try on RF basis.  Had a sale.  At the lowest res.... it was 65 dollars!!!

i have stuff on alamy with both RF and RM licenses.  I have sold more RF stuff, but then again I have more RF stuff on there.

was 65 what alamy got, or what your share is?

I think it is often unfair that when people talk about microstock prices they say the share that they get, ie. 30 cents from shutterstock, $1.20 from lucky oliver, but when they talk about alamy, they say what alamy got.  After alamy share, and their partners share (if it was sold by another agency), the accounting fee and so on, often the REAL amount is less than 50% of the amount quoted.

Not to mention the minimum payout is $250 and at $65/image, with the frequency of sales, payouts at the smaller micros come just as often  ::)

Another annoying thing is Alamy give their buyers 30 days credit I sold my second RM image back on the 13th of April. Over two months later that sale still hasn't cleared so my cleared balance is still below the $250 payout minimum. I had another two sales in June so hopefully my Alamy index will slowly creep upwards making sales more frequent.

Not to mention they charge you $8 to write a cheque.  >:(
